Miami & Mojitos
Took a trip to Miami with my girls! If you’re debating on going, do it! It was nothing short of amazing. Tall palm trees, white sand, fabulous day and night clubs, and of course the delicious drinks!
I drank Mojitos every day by the relaxing pools and the soft beaches. The perfect refreshing cocktail in the Miami heat. The Mojito was a specialty cocktail at each place I visited so you know they were tasty and easy to drink. The ultimate vacation cocktail.
If you won’t be visiting Miami anytime soon, don’t worry, Mojitos are easy to make at home! Perfect for when you have friends over, laying by your pool, or especially when you need to escape and go on a mini mental vacation. You’re just a few simple ingredients away from a tropical cocktail!
Also with Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, this cocktail will liven up your night wherever you spend Cinco de Drinko!

How to make a Mojito:
Squeeze the lime wedges in the glass. (Preferably using a hand held press to avoid any extra lime debris getting into your cocktail)
Gently muddle the limes and sugar together. I personally love using raw sugar cubes in mine. It gives the cocktail a more naturally sweet flavor.
Clap the mint leaves in your hands. rub them on the rim of the glass, and drop them into the glass. Slapping the mint leaves will release its minty fresh aroma making your drink smell as good as it tastes. Rubbing the leaves on the rim of the glass will also lightly coat the rim of the glass with the oils of the mint. Ensuring every sip will be enhanced with flavor on your lips.
After dropping the mint in the glass, gently muddle the ingredients again. This will extract more of the oils from the leaves into your cocktail.
Fill the glass half way with ice, add your choice of rum, stir, add more ice.
Top it off with a splash of soda water, and a spring of mint to polish the presentation.
Sip and enjoy!
