A/n:I really like how hopeful but realistic the ending of room of depression is but moon needs even more happiness and love and so I am more than happy to give it to her
Moon has always spent most of her life fighting her depression alone but she had always dreamed of having someone who could help her, make her life more bearable if not happy, and now she's really so glad to have you.
The main thing she loves about you is that you don't pretend to understand what she's going through, she knows that most people can't truly relate with her because of the condition and so she doesn't mind all the people who try to help her by trying to relate but you're different. you don't try to tell her that she's going to be fine or stereotype her issues and you admit when you can't understand her, you're honest about your relationship and that's one of the most helpful things you could do.
Moon really enjoys the affection you give her, both in her happier and more depressed moods. There are moments when she just needs to be alone and you give her the space she needs but still remind her that you're always there for her if she needs you
You always make sure she's eating enough and that she's sleeping at the right time, you don't force her to eat or sleep when she's not feeling like it but you gently push her towards more healthy habits knowing that's what she wants herself
Every time she comes home from a day of work you're there to greet her and comfort her if needed. You mostly cuddle while drinking tea and watching something cute and happy so moon can forget about the worries of the day for a bit
You always encourage her to pursue her passions and the things that bring her mind away from the negative thoughts, drawing for example, whenever you see one of her drawings you always encourage her to make more and praise her talent, seeing that sweet if small smile on her face when you tell her how beautiful her art is always warms your heart.
You're so proud of moon for how far she has come, according to what she told you in the past she struggled to find a reason to keep going but now she's helping other people with her own condition deal with it, she has such a kind and strong heart for that in your opinion
You both know her depression is never going to go away but you're so happy that moon has found a way to live with it, despite all the bad moments and negative thoughts and memories that still happen she has truly never been happier than when she is with you, because you try her best to make her life good and happy and the fact that someone cares about her to this level and helps her this much is enough to make her life worth living

You have been staring at your phone for nearly half an hour. It sits patiently on the bed in front of you, left idle on a server creation screen with celestial emojis for for the name (you'll come up with a better one later). Why are you so nervous? You were the one who suggested the idea yesterday, you want this- just invite them! It's just a button press away. Though..did you rush into it too fast? You did get a bit excited..
Well, you won't know how it'll go until you try- so it's time to give it a shot.
You send the invite link to "Sunny" as you now call him, then stand to do a quick lap in a circle while you wait for him to reply. Come ooon, they're super friendly, what is there to worry about? Well..you haven't talked to very many strangers in a while, admittedly..What if they don't like the everyday you?..
Coming to a stop, your eyes dart over to the computer.
Well, if they don't, they won't be worth it- Besides, you're authentic on stream anyway! You haven't really given yourself a "persona" or anything like that.. Just..be cool. You can do that. Give it a shot. Maybe it'll go well! Maybe you can become even better friends-

Moon's music box softly plays its signature slightly-off tunes throughout the otherwise quiet daycare. Various children lie on small sleeping bags, bean bag chairs, and tiny mats suited for their sizes- a select few resting directly on him as they sleep. He sits eerily still, not daring to disturb their rest. After a moment, he hums to accompany it, pulling the children deeper into their dreams as a nearby clock slowly ticks by.
You and Sun had continued drawing for several hours up until he promptly insisted for you to sleep, and even then- Sun still continued to make little works of art on a second canvas you had to make after running out of room in the first. He enjoyed watching you both create things together.
And then, after a bit of chatting and deciding, you finally sent them the link to an empty server where the three of you could talk away from any unwanted eyes. Somewhere a little more closed off, he likes that sort of thing. It's easier to talk there.
Currently, he's simply staring up at the glow-in-the-dark star-covered ceiling, reading through your messages to him and replying back in a small tab. Sun's window is currently closed while he's inactive, some little pixelated Z's floating out from it.
Normally Sun's been the only one to accompany him in the quiet..this is nice.

He leans a free hand back, tracing it over the open space in his back where his hook is meant to attach. Pulling his hand back, he's greeted with a light amount of dust that he quickly wipes away- turning his faceplate to look back down. If his face were more emotive, he'd definitely grimace. Best he could do right now is spin it around and narrow his eyes a bit.

He relaxes his posture at that, glancing at the clock before the lights slowly shift from dim to bright again outside of the naptime corner, the music quickly turning back on. The blanket fort hanging over them thankfully keeps the space dim enough for him to not have to abruptly swap, letting him ready himself- and the kids alongside him.
"Alright, little ones..it is time to wake." He gently nudges the children leaning on his legs, watching as they sit up and rub their eyes with little yawns. Once they stand, he stands with them- gently patting the shoulders of those trying to get a few extra minutes of sleep in before walking out into the light..shifting into Sun. He holds out his arms in an exaggerated manner, stretching as if he'd just woken up from a long nap himself (and, in a way, he did).
"Riiise and shine, everybody! Are you ready to go back to playing?" He presses his hands together, rocking back and forth on his heels. The children gather into a rehearsed straight line to follow him back to the play area, chatting amongst themselves along the way. He looks into the still-open tab in the corner while Moon's sprite crawls into his window like a spider, reading over what you'd both said. He lets out a little huff of amusement, before coming to a stop in front of the arts and crafts tables. He'll have to talk with you both later..but for now, work calls.
"Okay, everyone! I think it's time we use some glitter glue! Don't try to eat it. Looking specifically at you, Tommy- No, take the bottle away from your mouth! Right now!!-"
After about a minute of stubborn resistance, you finally sleep. Fatigue soon takes over and pulls you into the dark relaxing depths.. Yeah..sleep was a good idea..
Any dream you may have had is..fleeting, a blur of colors and shapes you don't quite recognize. All you can seem to remember is the feeling of a warm hand against your own, someone's thumb tracing over it.. and a hint of a smile, before you were abruptly pulled away.
When you finally wake, your body has sprawled out in every possible direction- feeling warm and slightly numb. One of the best feelings after a nap.. You lazily glance over at the alarm clock in your room, seeing that- a few hours had passed?? You'd only meant to sleep for like, one!! Maybe you were more tired than you thought..
Dragging yourself up, you stretch out your arms as your body wakes up before reaching for your phone. It takes a few tries, but you eventually grab it- turning it back on and scrolling through your notifications. Youtuber uploads.. fanart posts.. Oh, someone DM'd you- ..Well, that's scary. May as well see what they want?..

They call..almost instantly, you jolt a bit when your ringtone blasts throughout the emptiness of your room. Clearing your throat and walking over to your computer chair, you give it a good spin before holding your phone up to your ear.
"Hello?" You speak first, leaning back in the chair a bit.
"Hey! Thanks for answering."
"Thanks for contacting me. So um..what are you looking for, specifically?" You look at your computer wallpaper a moment. There's audible shuffling on the other end, and you swear you can faintly hear cartoonish voices in the background.
"See, I run a little roadside attraction here. I like to collect old stuff, y'know? More specifically..I like to collect old animatronics and merch from restaurants and other attractions. Can't go wrong preserving the past, right?" They sound like they're walking, moving past what you assume is a speaker playing an old rock song.
"I've set lots of 'stuff up in here. Some things I've got are from back as far as the early 80's! ..I've been trying to promote the place to get people to stop by and check out some pieces of history, but..business hasn't been the best, admittedly. So I think some pretty photos to advertise the place might help us out a lot! Maybe something to really capture that "vintage" vibe. Does that sound up your alley? I've made some posts about it if you wanna take a look, the name's 'Mechanical Marvels'."
You quickly search up the name, pulling up the aforementioned posts about it. It's..actually really close by! How haven't you seen this place before? It wouldn't take you too much time to get there.. you could even do this today, if you wanted. Though, their posts about it don't have the best photo quality..you see why they're asking for help. Looks like a humble little place, it's decorated nicely..
You hadn't thought too much about animatronics before. Vaguely, you can remember seeing a few bands at old pizza places you went to as a kid- they were always sliiightly offputting. But you liked them enough. There was always a charm to them, even if their range of movement was super limited. ..This could be a fun nostalgia trip, why not stop by and see what it's like?
"Oh, wow, I should be able to get there pretty quick."
"Really? Hey, that's convenient." You can hear them flip something- maybe a lightswitch?
"Yeah.. uh, the place looks pretty nice from what I can see so far! I'm all for stopping by and snapping some good photos for you. I could even stop by this evening, if you're free. Though, I don't wanna come in if you're busy..when would be a good time for you?" You look towards where your phone is.
"This evening sounds perfect! We like to turn on a lot of lights here at night- it'll really make things shine. Any time works, as long as it isn't after midnight. That's usually when we close, unless it's the weekend." You can hear a door open and shut.
"Sounds good to me, then- um..I'll meet you in about.." You check the address again, "Two hours? Does that sound okay?"
"Sounds great! Thanks so much, I'll greet you at the door when you get here- then I can give you a tour."
"Alright, see you later." You wait for a second before they hang up, before getting up and heading over to your closet. Okay, time to change into something suitable for working.. You honestly weren't expecting something like this. It's a lot more interesting than some of the other requests you've gotten in the past, so why not go check it out? Maybe you'll spot some hidden gems in there.
A few minutes pass as you change, pull on a hat you like and get yourself ready, dusting yourself off and giving a once-over in the mirror. Okay, good to go..you're ready. Though you are also ready much too early, so you have some time to kill before then.. Grabbing your phone, you walk downstairs and sit in the living room for a little bit. A few notifications pop up, a conversation between your two newfound mutuals going on in your server. Seems they've gotten a little more lively since earlier.
You gave them the permissions needed to make their own categories and channels, seeing what they'd do with the newfound creative ability. From the looks of it, Sunny's done a lot more than Moon has- making some stylish themed categories for them both with fun titles. "Sun's Spot", "Moon's Lair"..Silly. Looks like he made an art channel..you hope he posts in there often, his art was very nice! You can see that he pinned the link to your board to the top of the channel..easy access. That's awesome.
Maybe you should make a category too..one for your interests, maybe. Though..what would you talk about?.. maybe sharing your photos? You could put them in one space- there's a thought. You don't worry about it too much, after all- there's plenty of time to figure it out.

After a quick stop to get some food and drinks, you park outside of the building. Sure enough, it's a place on the roadside- pretty big, with a fancy colorful sign in front proudly displaying the title: "Mechanical Marvels: Animatronics and More". As you exit your car, grab your bag and make sure your camera is alright, you get a glimpse around the front of the building. It's nicely decorated, with a bunch of polka-dot banners and streamers dangling down from the awning in front of the bright red doors.
There's even a little baby blue bubble blowing machine (Try saying that five times fast..) propped up on a rainbow painted stool, you can spot a few of the colorful spheres passing by your head- Wait..are those shaped like characters? You walk over to get a look at the side; It seems to be from the Fazbear brand- seeing as you recognize the smiling blue bunny on the side of it accompanied by the words "Bonnie's Bubble Machine". Must be pretty old, too- you don't think you've seen this design for him before. It's definitely a lot darker than the new one. The little multicolored wands inside are shaped like the heads of the various characters in the classic Freddy's cast, it seems. How fun!
"Hey! Welcome!" You turn to glance in the direction of the friendly voice, spotting a figure approaching you from the doors in front. They give you a smile and wave as they approach, brushing their bright yellow bangs away from their eyes to see you better. They're wearing a very colorful outfit with a poofy skirt, with a little lanyard that reads "Mechanical Marvels" on the attached card.
"Nice to meet you." You introduce yourself as they hold out their hand, shaking it lightly.
"I'm Daffodil, nice to meet you too!" They beam, letting go of your hand and resting their arms at their sides. They're a bit taller than you are, so they have to look down to meet your eyes. You avert your gaze slightly, not quite used to eye contact, but do your best to look back.
"Um- I was just checking out this bubble machine you've got, it's super cute." You gesture your thumb towards it. They glance over a second, perking up a little bit when they seem to realize what you're talking about.
"Oh, yeah, I love that one. It's from.. I wanna say '95? Maybe '96? Managed to get it in a warehouse full of stuff. I was super surprised to find out it still works!" They walk over to it, and you take the opportunity to raise up your camera, getting a pretty shot of some Bonnie and.. Foxy? Yeah, Foxy-shaped bubbles drifting up into the air. "There's waaay more where that came from, trust me."
"That's so cool..I can't wait to see what else is here." You smile at them, adjusting your grip on your camera.
"Let me give you a tour, then we can go over all the business stuff before you get to work..sound good?" They grin, gesturing to the double doors awaiting you both with a hint of dramatic flair.
"Yeah, sounds good to me. Lead the way." You eagerly follow them in. Let's see what all's inside..consider your curiosity piqued.
Online Love is a DCA xReader fic where the Reader is a small (and i mean very small) streamer that the DCA stumbles upon on a late night! I wanted to write something with them for fun as I absolutely adore the DCA so this fic is kinda like a test drive for learning how to write them- while also doing my own spin on them/how they work! It's a canon divergent fic, so there won't be any virus shenanigans here..it's mainly meant to be on the softer/more lighthearted side with some yearning sprinkled in.
