Miami Spice 2016 - Blue Collar
Miami Spice? Yes Miami Spice is a two month event in the South Florida restaurant world. Participating restaurants comprise three course lunch and/or dinner prix fixe menus for $23 and $39, respectively. It spans from August 1st and September 30th.
I was scrolling IG and saw a beautiful plate of spicy braised oxtails and mashed potatoes on the Blue Collar IG profile. Needless to say, after work I winded up in one of the first stand out restaurants in the burgeoning Miami neighborhood of MiMo. I was greeted promptly and was seated. I had a Marshawn Lynch moment -- you know why I’m here. I don’t need to browse the menu :)
The oxtails were perfection. Tender, succulent, juicy and most importantly FLAVORFUL! But not to be outmatched, the mashed potatoes served as a great pairing. I constantly found myself scooping more and secretly plotting how I can ask for more. I highly recommend everyone to stop by Blue Collar to try this! I can and will jump the gun and say it’s one of the best dishes of Miami Spice this year.
