🌿 to accidentally or not so accidently because i get to make the rules, get caught under the mistletoe with my muse. - amelia & alistair
With a creak of aged leather and a soft whine of metal, the CEO slowly stretches all of his long form across the back of his black office chair. Legs uncharacteristically splayed and head gently tilted to the side, as he sleeps, hands pressed to his stomach across waistcoat buttons. His breathing heavy but quiet and eyelashes flutter against cheekbones as non-descript sleep images play out for an exhausted mind.
If asked Alistair would say he doesn't dream. Dreams seem like the thing of lesser men, ones given over to fancy, because they lack the ability in life to reach out and grasp what they want. Alistair has never met a thing he wanted but couldn't have. By hook or by crook he takes what he wants, so dreams seem a little... redundant.
It was late. The old adage that the boss leaves last was usually true, though sleeping in his office was not something he would usually allow himself to do. Dreaming and sleeping at work? Things must be slipping. He's sure to tease himself when he does arise, undoubtedly to the sound of the far-away night cleaner's vacuum a few corridors away. What he isn't expecting, however, is the soft graze against his lips and the smell of... strawberry lip balm?
Senses flick the switch of his consciousness immediately. In fact the sheer truth that someone has managed to slip into his office without him waking was a miracle in itself. Light footed, sweet smelling, a woman - the deadliest of all creatures.
Though he is awake Alistair lets himself stir slowly, as lips tentatively peck against his own with a slow, simmering pressure like something savoured, before they draw back and his eyelids lift with them. His gaze tracing up an emerald blouse collar, a pretty neck to a known face quickly distorting in gasped surprise. Then his eyes flicker up to the mistletoe held aloft above them, and his dark brow slowly arches to follow suit. It's inventive, he'll give it that. "You could have just asked" he murmurs back, voice low, husky with sleep, before he sees the cogs in the young admin's mind begin to whirr and panic set in and he is much too sleepy for that.
Instead his lips curl, arm reaching out to quickly loop around her middle with the agility a man asleep mere 25 seconds ago should not have, he tips her down onto his lap. His fingers pluck the mistletoe from her grasp and he gives it a mere moments inspection, before chucking it behind him with a rumbled noise of amusement from his chest and curls in for his own, much less fleeting, kiss.
