MIBF 2014
Yesterday's events.
Finally, the long wait was over! Yesterday, the most awaited event of bookworms like me finally took place: the Manila International Book Fair. During the past few years, it was consecutively held at SMX Convention Center (near SM Mall of Asia), Pasay City. Actually, it is a five-day event and this year, it went from September 17 to 21. I went there yesterday and met up with two of my friends from Wattpad. I do not know if they would be fine with me posting their usernames here, but for safety purposes (I love my life, you know), I'll just keep my lips sealed.
First meeting and I was late, shame on me! The traffic in Imus and Bacoor was so heavy because of the flood caused by typhoon Mario on Friday. And when I got in Baclaran, I had to find where the terminal is. I even climbed the overpass only to discover that the terminal's on the other side! Ugh. I think Ami waited in front of the Hall 1 for hours. A few hugs there and we went into action. Issa, on the other hand, was already there, waiting for someone else. Hmmp. (Issa, I hope you're reading this!)
Anyway, Ami and I planned what books we are going to buy there. Unfortunately, we didn't find Bloodlines and Mortal Instruments series at Penguin's and National Bookstore's stalls. When we approached the Customer Service, they told us that we can find those books at their store. After roaming around and looking for other stalls (OMG! We saw Heart Yngrid at the PHR booth, and she signed 3 of Ami's books!), we went to the NBS at the mall. We found what Ami was looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't find mine. It hurts to think that I will not be able to read Bloodlines for some time.
I bought Sparks' The Guardian, Green's Looking for Alaska, Coelho's The Alchemist, and two of Heart Yngrid's SCU books. Ah, no one can break my happiness that time. Not only I've been able to attend such event, but I also saw two of my dearest virtual friends. Well, not so virtual anymore. I know, that might be the first, but definitely not the last. And I'm looking forward for more dates in the future.
