Mic Tee - Love Somebody (Original)
Here's an original from my songwriting profile. I had a girl in mind for this song so this is actually a rough version. Hopefully I can get my HoH Fam Ela on it. Until then, check out this version!

PR for Lifestyle
Hey everyone!
Hope ya'll having a great day/night. Just wanted to post my second blog for my online PR class. This time I wanted to talk about an ad that was played during the Superbowl this year. This commercial was voted one of the best of the year. And what's interesting about it is that...well check it out.
So last semester Donna showed us this Ted Talks. And although I don't remember exactly the name of the guy or the precise talk itself; I do remember the main message. Successful PR, marketing or promotions doesn't push a product, it pushes a lifestyle, emotion, something that's intangible. And this is why this commercial was so successful.
You see some may argue that this commercial has absolutely no relationship to the Coca-Cola product itself. But let's take a look at what exactly the key messages of this video is. Love, the feeling of happiness, maybe that the world is a pretty good place, ultimately positive, warm, feel good emotions and feelings. These are all emotions and feelings that any brand would want their audience to associate themselves with and this goes back to the importance of empathy, love and these "feel good" campaigns. You see all of these PR/Marketing campaigns try to parallel the good feelings we get from seeing them to their brands and products.
I know you may think that this is sort of unethical, using good deeds and love to sell a product but I think disregarding the business-side of things one can't deny that something as positive as a video like the one above doesn't do anything but positive.
So at the end of the day the PR that an act of kindness or love creates is the exact same PR that any brand would want to be associated with. Kudos to Coca-Cola for taking advantage of the opportunity to publicize such a cool and positive message in one of the largest global events ever!

Project Management: Situation Analysis
Hey everyone!
So like I mentioned in my earlier posts as a requirement for my ‘Project Management’ class I have to write up a blog post reflecting on my time in class. The next few posts are going to be me applying what I learned to ‘The Mic Tee Movement,’ as well as future projects I may encounter once I’m working in the PR world.
It is now week five of my two semester program and we are quickly arriving to the conclusion of our course. Looking back on these past five weeks there are a number of lessons and concepts that stick out.
First off is the importance of planning. Like anything you do in life, planning is a crucial procedure to be successful. Planning however is an extremely packed word which entails a number of different actions. It includes:
Situation Analysis
Objectives (Target Audience)
Project Scope
Scheduling (Team Work)
Situation analysis is the research done prior to the execution of a project. The information found will ultimately show the current position or starting point of the project. To relate it back to ‘The Mic Tee Movement,’ the analysis I had done included seeing the current position of the ‘Mic Tee Brand.’ This included past projects of similar nature and evaluating the success rate of. In order to learn from my mistakes I’d list off particular actions that worked but also didn’t work; not just for my own actions but others that were similar as well. Knowing your situation is a crucial part of public relations. By knowing the factors around you, PR professionals are able to be well prepared for any possible errors or situations that may arise.
I will continue down the list of Objectives, Project Scope and scheduling in future posts to come.
Thanks for reading!
Stay Blessed,
-Mic
