Mic Tee - Love Somebody (Original)
Here's an original from my songwriting profile. I had a girl in mind for this song so this is actually a rough version. Hopefully I can get my HoH Fam Ela on it. Until then, check out this version!
Don't Worry, Be Happy
People aren't perfect. We're gunna mess up and be lazy. Sometimes we're gunna stumble and sometimes we're gunna fall. But there is no reason that you can not be the hand that helps someone back up. As someone who acknowledges even the smallest of things, I've realized that even the tiniest thing you do could change a person; whether it be their attitude in that moment, their mood for the day, or how they live for the rest of their lives. Why not make that a positive change? Go out of your way to show people that you love that you care. Hell, go out of your way to show a stranger that you care. Prove that there are, in fact, good people in this world. You don't need an incentive. You don't need a reason to be nice. You should be nice because it's the right thing to do. Because you know that you would sure as hell love it if someone did something nice for you. Because you walk away knowing that there was a possibility that you changed that persons life for the better. People say that everyone is so different, but in reality, we're all the same. We all have feelings and emotions. Whether we can admit it or not, we just want to love and be loved. We want to enjoy life and be happy. Why not help provide that happiness for others? No, you might not make a dramatic difference. But every penny counts. A little kindness can go a long way.
Speaking of 'Pay It Forward'
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to write about something my sister and I encountered earlier today that quite greatly exemplifies why this blog and movement exists in the first place.
At the end of our street some kids from St. Mary of the Angels had put together a bake sale to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital. What's even cooler about this though, is the fact that this all came from watching the movie 'Pay It Forward" (if you haven't seen the movie check it out ASAP!). A teacher decided to show the movie to the kids and out of this came the initiative to pay it forward, do something good for someone, who would later do something good for another, hoping that this domino effect of good deeds would continue on.
This is a concept many forget as we get older. The mentality that it's me against the world seems to become more and more evident as we become adults. I commend these girls for learning this at such a young age, and a big shout out goes to the teachers and parents that helped these kids learn this as well.
If a couple elementary school girls can understand the concept of love, giving and kindness I think it's only right that we really take on this philosophy as well. Something as small as this bake sale not only supports Sick Kids financially, but it also promotes the brand, teaches the kids a lesson about love, brings a community of neighbors together to help out a common cause, gets people talking to each other and at the least satisfies my sweet tooth!
Acts of kindness can do so much more than we can imagine. The good can never be judged. Who judges someone for doing good anyway? THat's just crazy talk! Take a lesson from these young girls. Keep lovin'! Keep doin' good!
Thanks for reading!
And girls if you're reading this right now great job. I hope the best for your futures and keep paying it forward!
Stay Blessed,
--Mic
