Mica, how do you feel about children?

“I like children. I always imagined that I would have children of my own, some day, but I am not sure if it will happen any time soon. I’d like to teach them how computers speak, and to practice the Way of the Stone. Most of all, I’d like to see my children grow up to be kind and independent. Perhaps they would make a difference in the Universe that I could not.

I think I would be a good father, too. I have many ideas about child rearing that are different from how my parents raised me. Parenting would give me a purpose where I otherwise have none.”

I thought I would stop by to visit the address that your Mordesh friend, Kaamos, left with me. A naked, pink Mordesh directed me to your office, but you were not there, so I am leaving you this message. I arrived on Nexus not long ago, in a fighter ship that I built myself. It took many years, but I am here now, and I wanted you to know that it was you who inspired me to follow my heart. I am sorry if my handwriting is bad, it is because I am not used to writing this way.

🔒 - Is your muse secretive? If so, why?

Mica is secretive. He doesn’t like anyone knowing his business unless he tells them, and he’s rather paranoid about his electronics. He keeps tape over his datapad and datachron tablets so that no one can spy on him. His obsession with firewalls and cybersecurity only increased when computer system of his ship was hacked on Nexus, and he became worried that all of the programs he built could be destroyed.

The Way of the Stone: In the Beginning

The Stone will always show us the way. It does not punish us, it guides us. It reminds us that we are everlasting, like the earth, because from the earth we are forged and into the earth we will crumble.

The Stone is strong and so are we. In the face of the blazing sun or the crashing waves, the stone remains adamant. Moments of fury, sadness, and hardship will pass, but always the stone prevails with integrity and honor.

The Stone is malleable, and so are we. We bend and break and then we rebuild into something new, but always, we are made of the same sediment as our ancestors.

The Stone endures the sands of time and so must we. While the earth beneath our feet may change, we must remain grounded to the soil that gives us life.

We must be as the stone, strong, malleable, and enduring.

A long time ago, the stone guardians were forged by the earth, one for each of the seven nations. The Cindercrag guardian was forged by the molten core. The Sandwaste guardian rose from the desert dunes. The Claymantle guardian rolled from the soft crust. The Deepore guardian emerged from the crystal caverns beneath the mountains. The Ironshale guardian grew in the layers of the forest. The Grimrock guardian crumbled from the highest peak. And finally, the Bloodshard guardian was molded by the great rivers that now run dry.

3, 5, 11, 33, & 44 for MICA

3. “The blowpipe accident” as it’s casually referred to by Mica, resulted in the loss of his right eye. He only remembers searing pain. His parents were master glass-blowers who frequently handled a tool called a blowpipe that is used by glaziers to shape their glass creations. Mica was just a young pebble when he wandered into his parents’ workshop. No one is entirely sure how it happened, but Mica must have gotten a hold of the red hot end of a blowpipe that they left unattended. What you see in place of his right eye now is, ironically, a false glass eye.

5. On the surface, Mica is afraid of modern medical practices. He doesn’t trust needles, nanites, or condensed chemical medications around his body. He doesn’t even like the processed Nexus food and toxic beers. He is far more comfortable with natural remedies and mineral solutions that he is familiar with from his homeworld of Gnox.

Further down, Mica is absolutely terrified of being hacked. The security systems he developed for software in his fighter ship and his personal computers are the result of extreme paranoia. He fears that the programs he has built and the life and money he has made for himself on Nexus could be destroyed or stolen. He tries his best to repress this fear, because he is amazed by the wonders of technology that he never knew on Gnox and he would hate to limit his usage.

Secretly, Mica is conflicted. He fears that if he rejects the Way of the Stone, his life will be devoid of meaning and purpose. He worries that, because he was exiled from his homeland for his meddling with technology, the Stone Guardians have abandoned him like his family and that he is praying now to the void. But he never voices these fears out loud, because only maybe Gypsum would ever understand.

11. Whenever Mica is feeling anxious, confused, lonely, or overwhelmed, he falls back on the meditation practices he learned from his homeland. It is a healthy, beneficial way to help him focus. It’s not what he would call a vice.

33. Mica was, at one point in his life, betrothed to Gypsym Opalhand of the Gemstone clan. But before they could be married, she flew away from Gnox on a ship with Guy Fantastic. That made him sad. But now that they’ve found each other on Nexus, they seem to be friends. But certainly, things didn’t work out as they were originally planned.

44. Mica wishes he could have more sex - and it’s not that Mica can’t have sex. He’s certainly physically capable. He’s just completely terrible at flirting, and he’s slow to make any moves. Why can’t someone just make it easy for him?

13. Mica has felt envy for a long time, and he felt it first when Gypsum escaped into the stars with Guy Fantastic, and left him behind on Gnox. At first, he thought what he felt was betrayal, or sadness, but it was not. He wanted to explore the galaxy too, but he also wanted to follow The Way of the Stone. On Nexus, he finds himself envious of other things - particularly Emma Stardust’s Draken lover. What’s so good about him, anyway?
