Here to sprinkle common sense.
This has happened quite a few times with different people. I remember in middle school this one girl hated the living shit out of me. I had absolutely no idea why. So one day I approached her and asked her why she hated me so much. I didn't know what I did to deserve her hating me so much. In fact, I couldn't recall a single incident. I told her if I'd ever done or said something wrong to her that I was sorry and would like to make amends with her. Without hesitation she looks at me and says, "I hate you just because! You think you're perfect with you're perfect life, and perfect family! You're so smart and always doing everything right! I hate you just because and there's no changing that!" This entire time so many answers where floating through my head. Like, my family is far from perfect but I don't need to carry that luggage around for everyone to deal with, I'm far from perfect myself and I'm definitely not striving to be so, and I'm also 100% ok with that. And I'm nice to everyone because I believe that's how you should be with everyone; not pick and choose, nor should I take out my anger on certain people just because. So I looked at her in the eyes, smiled, and responded as any classy person should, "And you're such a bitch. You're soul is so dark and that's why no one likes you. Even when everyone talked about you or said bad things about you, I still defended you and spoke nicely about you. Even when I heard you where talking about me I still defended you. But you know what? I'm still going to be nice to you. Every time I see you walking in the hallways I'm going to smile. In fact, I'll be that much nicer every time I see you that you'll have no choice but to hate me more or grow a heart and learn to be nice to me for once. If you think for one second I'm going to change who I am and give into you're cold and dark ways to appease you, you're wrong. I still win. So either change your ways or continue living on with everyone else still disliking you, and passing up on the one person who has actually been giving you a chance." Moral of the story: We still never became friends after that.

Exile II
Walls are a funny thing. We build them to keep things out and to protect us, so that when we leave the safety of those structures we lose sight of ourselves and our strength. The day you come home to see boxes of all your belongings packed away. Their truths and bones, so easily discarded into even smaller boxes that once signified home and security. There is no reasoning; it is unknown, and it is stone, but it is also shattered glass broken free of all it's restraints. We focus on the pieces and lose sight of the sharpness and savagery we can manifest now; a goodbye to old lies and an awakening of dark truths that we are afraid to admit to ourselves. Those ramparts we clenched deeply to, and carved our souls into are a cacooning waiting to be shed and discarded, so that we can truly form and extend into our greater selves. We can't deny the inevitable realness of life's wounds and stitches. Like the strong women who birthed us, exile is not a shunning but a rebirthing; a stronger and more resilient path to walk, because the one we walked was fickle and set upon make-believes.

There was a necessity in wanting to run - bare feet - across the dew-soaked field. Feel daisies whisk past my legs; sending sweet chills up my thighs, and know that love can hit me just the same. - Micah Mora
