Location: The Arts Centre Starter for: @micaylaharris
With winter generally being a quieter in Alya’s social calendar, considering her rule of never bothering with a coat on a night out as she was guaranteed to leave it behind, the young businesswoman had to come up with more and more things to keep herself occupied, to make sure she got out of the office and stayed away from her laptop of an evening. With her work at Dubois Cosmetics ramping up as she took more and more responsibility on to ease her father’s workload, she could see those extra ten minutes here and there adding up and she also knew the consequences if she let that carry on for too long. Instead of staying home, she had finally booked a class to try and accomplish a goal of hers. To learn how to salsa dance.
Alya loved to dance and had danced for a lot of her life, having studied ballet as a child before moving into more generic and street dance lessons as a teenager. But she hadn’t taken a proper class in the longest time as she hurried into the arts centre, a couple of minutes late thanks to the unpredictable Parian traffic, it just felt right. “Ah, a late runner, perfect. You can partner up with her.” Shrugging her jacket off, Alya slung it over a chair, tossed her bag on top and looked up, her face breaking into a smile at the familiar face of her partner. “Well, look who it is! Please tell me this is your first lesson too and they’re not pairing a pro up with an amateur?”
