You'd been trying to decide on a couples costume for you and Javi in time for his big office Halloween party, but he'd been no help.
It had been one excuse after the other, "I'll go to the party if I don't have to dress up.", "As much as I want to see you in a Leia costume, I'm not dressing up as Han.", "That costume is too scary.", "This one's not scary enough, I'll look like a dork."
As a last stitch effort, you suggested one of your favorite couples, Morticia and Gomez Addams. You bit your lip as you watched him consider it- the dark furrow of his eyebrows and the upwards quirk of his mustache.
“Well, what about-” He thought aloud and then stopped. He hummed softly and then added, “I can’t do his accent, babe.”
You laughed, “Well, I can’t do hers either. It’s just supposed to be fun, Javi.”
Eventually, after some persuading kisses and assurances that you would love him even if he ended up looking like a dork, he agreed to your idea.
The weeks in between the conception of your idea and the actual party, you spent your time gathering things for both of your costumes- a creepy black dress for you and a black and grey pinstriped suit for him.
Any little trinket or detail to add to the costume that you brought home, Javi was excited to see. He pretended that he wasn’t, but you could see the light in his eyes and the pull of his dimples that told you otherwise.
The night of the party, as soon as you got home from work, you began getting ready. Javi arrived home later than you and smiled when he saw you doing your makeup in the bathroom. “What are you getting all dressed up for, baby?” He asked as he leaned against the bathroom door frame.
You chuckled, “The Halloween party is tonight, Javi.”
“Ah, really? I don’t-”
“And you are not getting out of it, Peña.” You pointed a finger at him and smirked. “I worked too hard on finding your costume.”
He sighed over dramatically and scratched the back of his neck. “Okay, okay, fine. Let me shower before I put my stuff on.”
You smiled triumphantly hummed to yourself as you fixed your lipstick once more.
When you both arrived at the party, the two of you stole the show as soon as you walked in. Murphy commented, “Damn, Javi, she’s got you whipped bad, doesn’t she?”
Javi pushed Steve, hard, in the shoulder and shook his head. He turned back to you and palmed your lower back gently. Javi spent the whole night trying to keep you close to him. He could see the many pairs of wandering eyes that fell upon the deep cut black dress you wore and it raised the hairs on the back of his neck.
You enjoyed his clinginess and rubbed your hand across his chest to soothe him. He sighed heavily, “There’s lots of shady types that work here. I don’t trust them.”
You made sure to kiss his cheek in reward for his protective nature, but continued to enjoy the party and explore the office with Connie when she asked.
Before the night was over, there was a photo op you dragged Javi into. As you posed, you pulled the finishing touch out of your bag- a plastic red rose for Javi to hold in his teeth. He chuckled when he saw it and did as you instructed; held the rose stem in between his teeth and then dipped you low.
After the party died down and the two of you were pleasantly buzzed, Javi drove you both home, stopping at a late night fast food place for a midnight snack. Full and drowsy, the both of you barely got your costumes off before falling into bed and drifting off to sleep in each other’s arms.
“Night, Gomez.”
A soft chuckle, then, “Night, Morticia.”

so in december 2017, the vid of robrons first kiss ended up on my dash for the 3 year anniversary, so i watched it bc i was intrigued. i had known about their existence already, i just never watched the show. literally the Only Thing i knew about the show was that at some point in 2017 robert had cheated on aaron and people werent happy. so i spent 12 days straight watching the entire robron storyline and not studying for my final exams. 2.5 months later, i know Everything. life ruined. whoops!
