MICHAEL FRASER TO GREET YOURSELF ARRIVING from TIGHTROPE BOOKS
Pretty much any poem that mentions Miles Davis is going to hit a weak spot in my anatomy.

There’s nothing quite so wonderful as when a roomful of poets and readers becomes a love-in.

Yesterday was a good day for book mail!...Got a couple of copies of Michael Fraser's new #book of #poems called 'To Greet Yourself Arriving' which George Elliott Clarke calls "an event in Anglo-Canadian poetry" right on the cover so you know it's good (plus check that cover art)😆...and I got the #photobook I designed of my recent trip to #StLucia and it looks pretty sweet too...love seeing my work transferred to different formats👍👍👍 #books #print #photojournal #bae #artlife #create #michaelfraser #tightropebooks #canadianpoetry #africancanadian
TO GREET YOURSELF ARRIVING POET MICHAEL FRASER interviewed by MAYANK BHATT
When I read I focus on textual construction. I’m concerned with how poets construct their lines, stanzas, line breaks, phrases, and word choice. I’ve learned by reading all the greats: Shakespeare, Neruda, Derek Walcott, W.S. Merwin, Langston Hughes, Robert Lowell, Octavio Paz, Yusef Komunyakaa, Anne Sexton, Gwendolyn Macewen, C.D. Wright, etc.
