we all know how luke sleeps early right? but how many times do you think he'd stay awake just to hear ashton ramble about the universe at 3 am and he can't help but tell him his eyes are just as pretty as the stars but it's ok, bc he knows they won't mention it when the sun comes up

oh god sleepy!luke curled up at ashton's side, listening to ashton go on & on about the things that they can't explain and the things that he's most curious about, even tho he'll probably never find an answer. he'll talk and talk and laugh once in a while when he goes off on a funny side story about his childhood, then forgets what he was talking about in the first place. but luke just hums to let ashton know that he's listening, and he'll smile at the silly things that ashton says--but mostly he spends time watching the plethora of emotions that flash across ashton's face, and he gazes into ashton's pretty hazel eyes that are filled with so much life and something else that luke can't even begin to describe. but it's beautiful and so he says that aloud, bc the world deserves to know it. and ashton will suddenly stop talking and turn his head to glance at luke, surprised but also really flattered, and just before he starts talking again he'll inch his hand closer to luke's and interlock their fingers.

they don't mention that bit the next morning, either

THIS IS SO DUMB IM SO SORRY

Michael is drunk. Calum knows this, because all he’s done for the past two hours is compliment Calum on literally every single one of his features, which is something he only does when he’s drunk.

(And sometimes late at night, when they’ve fallen asleep in the same bed, when Michael thinks Calum is asleep. Whispers about how Calum’s eyes make him feel like home and how his hands make him feel safe. Whispers Calum pretends not to hear, trying his hardest not to smile and give away the fact he’s still awake.)

Michael’s just gone through a fifteen minute speech about Calum’s right hand pinky (“You know how most fingers look like sausages, Cal? Well, yours don’t. Yours just look like, I don’t know. Something prettier than sausages. Sausages aren’t really pretty.”) when he has apparently decided it’s time to move on to the next body part.

“Your lips are like the galaxy’s edge,” Michael states, and Calum reacts to him for the first time since he’s started this whole eulogy. It’s just, it sounds strangely poetic and Michael’s hardly ever poetic when he’s drunk. Or when he’s sober, really.

“What?”

Michael looks at him with wide bright eyes. His hair is all sweaty and smushed and there’s a few drops of beer on his chin. “I read it, somewhere, the other day. Your lips are like the galaxy’s edge. I have no idea what it means, but it reminded me of you. Your lips are really pretty, you see. And kissable. Like, really kissable.”

Michael’s eyes are now solely focused on Calum’s lips and Calum should probably feel uncomfortable. Like, his best friend is currently staring at his lips and telling him how kissable they look. Also, he seems to be moving closer and closer towards Calum, until he’s barely a nose length away.

“Oh,” is all Calum can say, and then they’re kissing.

Later that night, when they’re tangled in the sheets and seemingly asleep, Calum can hear Michael mumble praises into his shoulder. It sounds something like “Your butt though. Your butt’s really pretty. Like cheese. Not that cheese is pretty, but it can be round. Just like your butt. I like your butt. And cheese.”

This time he doesn’t stop the smile from spreading over his face.

(1/2) puppy!calum + lashton and kitty!michael au where calum always wonders why michaels cat ears are a different color not to mention how his tail is lilac so he talks to him one day and michael is like ?? Bc no one ever talks to him not even the few cats in the school so he invites him over to lunch with lashton and they're like "calum ?? you realize he's a kitten right"

(2/2) but calum just looks at michael "yeah, but he's a cute kitten" and michael is /so/ shy and quite all he answers with is nodding or small 'no's and he notices how calum is staring at his eyes a lot but all calum could think of is how his eyes are a different color each with bits of different colors just like his ears hel p

"yeah, but he's a cute kitten" IS WHERE I LOST IT :((( PLS I need this AU where all the little kiddies have animal ears & tails of all sorts of animals but domestic animals like puppies & kittens are most common and those groups usually aren't friends w/ each other...

but puppy!calum is like PFFFT forget that, he's too intrigued by kitten!michael's unique appearance so he doesn't give a shit what anyone else thinks. after a while, mikey finally starts coming out of his shell bc he realizes that these 3 puppies accept him even though he looks like a freak (or, at least everyone else says so) and he starts being himself around them, which is a feisty lil kitten who loves to play games and mess w/ things that he knows he shouldn't. but calum is his partner in crime and they chase each other around the playground and calum tugs at michael's tail and michael likes to scratch behind calum's earS AND I'M SO DEAD INSIDE
