I mainly knew John Wayne as a cowboy. Seeing him in The Quiet Man, which is more the romantic comedy-esque genre, was a nice surprise! Also I love Maureen O’Hara. But what I loved most about this film was honestly the scenery. Beautiful Ireland, so green, so mesmerizing. Although it’s not a new favorite, I can say I really enjoyed watching this film. The Quiet Man received the Oscar for Best Director for John Ford and Best Cinematography for Winton C. Hoch and Archie Stout.
