Ai-je assez de flare ?
🎶✨when u get this, list 5 songs u like to listen to, publish. then, send this ask to 10 of your favourite followers (positivity is cool)🎶✨
I'm currently going through a book of French sheet music (partitions) and so I'm going to list five of these songs that I like to listen to 🥰🎹💙🤍❤️ and play on the piano...
This isn't Johnny's best song, but it's got a lovely bridge. And it's in the book!
I was surprised this song was in the book, but I do have a weakness for Matt Pokora, and this is an indisputably fun pop song.
I don't even know how to explain this one except to say it's ridiculous and fun and you hear it at parties in France a LOT (at least the ones I go to) where everyone drunkenly sings to the inevitable cadence and then screams LES LACSSSSSSSSS at the chorus.
I know, I know it's sacrilege to cover Edith Piaf except when you're Celine Dion. This song is one of my faves, it was one of our wedding songs, it's a classic, and everyone seems to have a version of it (including Johnny!). I even like the Josh Groban one.
But Celine knocks this out of the park, honestly. Just perfection. My new definitive version.
My husband introduced me to Cabrel 100 years ago when we were dating, and early on I jokingly called him the Chris de Burgh of France, but honestly, that's not quite right. Chris is a great singer songwriter (and I will fight anyone who says differently) but he's more pop and Cabrel is more poet. In any case, like the Johnny song up above, this isn't my favorite Cabrel song, but it's still a good one, and it's been tickled on the ivories this weekend. Enjoy.
Merci beaucoup for the ask @ele-millennial-weirdo, music and friends are really the best things in life.
