This is from something I wrote the other day, for one of my OCs for The 100 while trying to find her voice!
“I feel horrible about myself when I think about my mom.” Portia glanced up at Kane as she spoke, a frown set on her face as her hair fell from its spot behind her ear.
Kane furrowed his brows and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
“How so? She knew the risks in having you, she chose that.”
Portia shook her head. “No, not because she died. Well, yes, but… I don’t miss her. I’ve thought about what my life would have been like if she was alive, even if I was still in lockup and she could only visit me once a week like you did, but…I don’t feel much of anything when I think about her. And that makes me sound awful, doesn’t it? Here you are, my dad, the man who loved her and I’m the daughter you two had together and I just…can’t feel anything about my mom.”
