1. If you won $100,000, what would you do with it?
We would pay off student loans, get some work done on the house, and probably invest anything leftover. Seth's way more responsible with money than I am, so if it were completely up to me we'd probably go on a big vacation and take our friendables along. Or maybe I'd let him invest it and insist we did that later on. Haha
2. If you could do one thing you love as a career, what would it be?
Two weeks from today I graduate from vet school and 3 weeks after that I officially finish my clinical rotations, so I'm well on my way to doing the one thing I love. Ultimately, I want to specialize in veterinary oncology.
3. What would your patronous be?
I like to think it would be a cat. In particular, I suspect it would look a lot like Flavius, actually. He's sweet and lovey and adores the people he's comfortable with, but dislikes major change and tends to be anxious and prone to stress around strangers. I relate well to him. Yes, I'm fairly sure my patronus would be a fluffy cat who had some areas of stress-induced psychogenic alopecia.
4. Who would win in a fight, Dumbledore or The Doctor?
Dumbledore. I have never watched Doctor Who, though I may someday...so...Dumbledore.
5. Do you prefer pens or pencils?
Pens, hands down. And not just any pens. They have the be clicky-top pens with the gel-tip that gives a nice even ink flow with minimal pressure without getting ink everywhere at the same time.
6. What are you most proud of?
I fear I may sound full of myself, but I'm honestly super proud of myself for winning two awards last night for proficiency and compassion in clinical oncology. It reminds me not only of what I can do and where I'm meant to be in my field, but of how far I've come. A year ago I wasn't even sure I would be able to come back to school, and now I'm not only about to graduate, but the oncology department gave me the highest honors they possibly could, consider me the top student in my class in oncology, and the residents and interns gave up their Friday night and came out to the awards banquet JUST TO SEE ME RECOGNIZED. Seriously, I don't think they understand just how much it meant to me, that these people with insanely busy, hectic schedule chose to give up an entire evening of their very limited free time to attend an event they would otherwise not attend, just so they could see the look on my face when my name was called for both awards. And also, I stood up in front of several hundred people. I know it sounds like a little thing, but even standing up and having all those people, many of them strangers, looking at me is a huge deal for a girl who used to not be able to leave the house for fear of human interaction. So yes. I'm not often proud of myself, but I am right now.
7. If you woke up tomorrow, and the internet was gone, what would you do?
Probably the same thing I did today: I'd take Laila to the dog park, hang out with my in-laws for a bit, do some reading, and probably get some cleaning done. Also, I would probably forget and check tumblr on my phone every 20 minutes anyway only to realize it was gone.
8. What was your favorite song in the 7th grade?
7th grade was the year I met my one true musical love. I remember half waking up one Saturday morning and hearing the most beautiful voice, and waking up later thinking it must have been a dream, because I'd never heard the song before and even though songs on the radio were often incorporated into my dreams, I didn't believe there could be such a voice. The next day in the car "Adia" played again. And I was hooked on that song and Sarah McLachlan forever.
9. Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate for taste, vanilla for smell
10. Where in the world would you go if you had unlimited time and money?
Everywhere. Seriously, EVERYWHERE. I would start with a cruise to Antarctica, and take a world tour, making sure I set foot on every continent and got to experience as much as possible from as many different countries, cultures, and ecosystems as possible.
11. Are you wearing pants right now?
Yes.
