Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse!Born in 1928. He is 92 years young today!!! I was able to adopt this guy years ago at an auction. Walt himself gifted this Mickey to Ugo D’orsi who was first violinist during a session for Fantasia. The story that came with this particular Mickey was told by his niece that “During one of the many sessions for that film, Walt Disney walked in carrying several of the “new” Mickey Mouse Dolls. Mr. Disney said to the orchestra members, “Look what I just made” and signed them under the chin of the doll. He passed them out to key orchestra members, one of which went to my Uncle Enzo.” This is one of my favorite items of Mickey Mouse memorabilia. I am very particular and only collect early Mickey attired in red pants. Makes it more exciting when I find something that fits into the perimeters of my collection otherwise I would be overrun with them as there are millions of versions!!! Mickey Mouse will forever be a classic and always represent happiness for me and bring a smile to my face as he does for countless others.
