My hot take is perisex trans people didn't steal the concept of agab (+ other variations on that acronym) from intersex people.
People use the word "steal" wrt perisex trans people in this context and I think that it's wrong to do so. I think that stealing is a loaded term to use and not at all helpful.
Like imo what happened is terminology was created (it is disputed by who) and two communities (intersex people and trans people) found it useful. Over many years, some perisex trans people using it started using it wrong and perpetuated intersexism. Which isn't okay.
But honestly, I think the constant framing of (perisex) trans people as "stealing" is disingenuous and contributes to transphobic narratives (e.g. the trans community has also been accused of "stealing" the concept of pride flags, pride itself etc. from cis gays). There were and are ongoing stereotypes that liken trans people to thieves (e.g. "stealing" cis people's daughters/sons and making them trans). I don't think characterising a whole community as "thieves" is helpful or useful.
It's a subtle microaggression I see a lot from intersex people and perisex people supporting the "stealing" framework. The same way bisexuals were accused of stealing terminology from lesbians. The same way lesbians were accused of stealing the word gay. You see what I'm trying to say here?
Certain transphobic microaggresions have been tolerated for way too long in intersex activism imo and honestly needs to be called out.
