Exciting Times...

This is the first blog post i have written in a very long while so please bear with me.

The last few months at Mad Dog has been a mixed bag of things going very slow as i went back to working on my own for a bit to then suddenly taking 5 people on board, oh and opening my first pub in Caerleon called The Dog House.

Yep, it has been very busy let alone very stressful but good things are happening. We now have a fantasic team of people both at the brewery and in the pub.

First we have Stuart who has been working voluntary in the brewery for the past 12 months. Two weeks ago he started as Mad Dog’s head brewer. Stuart has a wealth of knowledge in brewing and has already coming up with 12 NEW beers to get brewed before the end of 2018. These include a good mix of saisons, sours, IPA’s, pale ale’s and some truly awesome ‘specialist’ stuff. What’s more is that some of these will be available in bottles too. We also already have something very cool waiting for Christmas. We’ve not said anything of this previously ;)

Next we have Llyr who has joined us as our sales manager. Llyr loves a beer or two. Proboly the reason why he’s a beer guru. May be he should be in the brewhouse! No doubt if Llyr is on the road he will be paying you a visit soon if you are a trade customer. He like a white coffee with half a sugar ;)

Next we have Tina. Tina is our assistant manager at The Dog House. She has been with us since day one and is already making a huge impact. The Dog House not only sells the best craft beer and real ales around the area but also stocks artisan wines, gins and vodka. All of our snacks are supplied from small indepandant Welsh companies. Nothing we buy in for The dog House in super mass produced. 

Tina has done a great job at organising acoustic sets for our Saturday night entertainment. We are working on entertainment to fill most nights of the week with different things happening every week so keep an eye on our social media or download the new Facebook events app to keep up to date.

Cheers to everyone that has supported me through my journey of starting out in my kitchen brewing one firkin at a time just over 4 years ago. You people are amazing. 

Anyway, i have been told that Stuart will be writing the next blog, so stay tuned.
