Putting the workshop to bed for the night, all ready for tomorrow. Apparently a tidy desk = a tidy mind, but that remains to be seen... Couple of projects on the go here: my Japanese tsuba (sword guard) in mild steel with two separate ginkgo leaves of pure iron inlaid into the surface and then carved with my handmade Japanese chisels, and some micro mail /micro chainmaille in sterling silver. That stuff is really tiny.... 

The tsuba is carved on the left hand side to evoke corrosion or even a dripping cave wall... something rough and stony. I will be doing some katakiri work on the other side I think, for contrast. You can just see flecks of the black pine-pitch I use to keep it securely locked in place while I’m carving!
