Fuzzy Thoughts - Microsoft Ransomware
So.........
Booted up the computer today for work and was immediately hit with . . .
. . . and I'm like: How many times do I have to say no. I mean, our current culture puts a lot of emphasis on "NO" means "NO". "No, NO! I don not want your cup of tea."
So, I look to see if there is a decline on the 'schedule it' page. Alas! There is not. It gives you two other forms of the original "Got it" AND two forms of Accessibility functions missing from page one (see lower right corner)
So, basically, this is ransomware. You MUST download Windows 11 or you can not use your computer. Acquiesce to our demands or we deny access to your computer. The computer you own - btw.
On to tech support... Microsoft. WTF? Tell me how to get past this. I need to get to work. I have clients this morning. Fix this.
IT Support - "Um. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here, text THESE people at 'JustAnswer'... oh... btw... that will be a $1 (it's only a dollar and you can text with these folks all you want. Merely a buck. One small greenback. A BARGAIN."
I have to PAY to have a simple question answered about bypassing software that I did not request and, in fact, have DECLINED at least six times? Yeah, that's the very definition of ransomware. I don't care IF it is a third party provider. I don't care IF it is one dollar. (Multiply that by millions of people per year and it is a million dollar scam.)
Alright. Here. Here's a buck. What now?
Yeah... I tried that doesn't work. What next?
Are you kidding? Really? That information isn't even worth the dollar that was procured under duress and with false pretense ( #embezzled ). So, you can't help. I get that you are IT Support and that you're doing your job but, honey, this is the definition of SCAM.
"JustAnswers is not a Scam"
Pretty touchy there, babe. Give me another option.
"There is no other option. Find a way to get into Safe Mode and follow the steps."
TRANSLATION - YOU ON YO OWN SUCKA!!
Smart phone search... safe mode for Gateway Laptop. No. Smart phone search... Microsoft IT support phone Nope. Smart phone search... Win 11 Download Hostage Situ Accept download then revert to 10 as needed.
Fuck you, Microsoft.

"Returning you to Windows 10"
A compete waste of time, Microsoft. Two clients rescheduled with discounts given for their time. One client cancelled with full refund due to time constraints and data availability. This cost me $$ I can't recoup - and it's not enough to warrant the legal cost to fight. This is why people hate big tech. THIS is WHY.
