So About that One Night || Mr. Gold and Ruby
Ruby fought back the urge to roll her eyes, her grandmother's words hammering against her skull after a heavy night prior. For once, couldn't she just drop the subject? It didn't much either that she was expected to work the morning shift, nor did the chatter around her help much to soothe her hangover, either.
Taking a long gulp of coffee in the back kitchen, she checked herself over once more before making her way back out to the dining room. And she'd all but managed to slip into her friendlier disposition to greet diners when a new face made her freeze in her tracks.
Mr. Gold. She muttered a silent curse to herself, neck tensing for a moment before she willed herself to relax a little. With their brief tryst still fresh in her memory, she'd been grateful he wasn't a regular at Granny's. But it seemed he decided today was ideal for her Granny's overpriced flapjack special. Smoothing and tugging at her apron, a dupe pad in hand, she made her way to his booth.
"Mr. Gold." she greeted, keeping her tone polite, even, but distant. "What can I get you today?"
