melodious-sitarist:
Myde had grown up in a shipwreck. It was a little weird seeing one above the water, clean and shiny and whole, but this at least, was familiar. It was kind of nice, not to be staring at an alien world trying to make sense of it. But he’d never been on a ship when he had legs. So, when the ship lurched, Demyx toppled over almost immediately.
With a groan, he dragged himself off the floor, using the desk to support himself. “Why can’t we just explore the island?” he whined. “I mean, I know this captain guy’s dark enough to attract a bunch of Heartless, but come on, there’s nothing here.”
At least Demyx wiped out harder than he did, and Axel let out a belated, callous laugh. But at the question, he rolled his eyes, pulling out the closest drawer to him to ruffle through it.
“I mean, we can, if there’s actually anything more interesting over there.” If there were, Axel wouldn’t hesitate. The unexpected always gave him a much needed break from the Organization’s drudgery, and on top of it, something out of the ordinary usually turned out to also be relevant to their goals in some way. “But somehow I doubt it, and this Captain Mook guy was pretty close to Whatserface, soooo...” And really, that was probably giving Demyx more information than he’d earned. But Axel figured he wouldn’t have much to use it on.
Still, at this rate he was probably also giving Demyx enough leeway to head off if he was dead set on doing that. Axel wasn’t concerned; he could always catch up later.
