Day-Flying Moth (Cyclosia midamia, Chalcosiinae, Zygaenidae), female by itchydogimages Via Flickr: The recognised mimicry of butterflies of this moth genus is quite profound particularly in flight and when they are at rest with their wings spread also considering they are almost exclusively a day-flying genus. The mimicry of the milkweed or crow butterflies is Mullerian in nature in that the butterflies are noxious tasting due to their food plant and the Chalcosiine Zygaenid moths produce cyanide independent of their food source as a deterrent to predation.
