By choice? Or by some kinda pattern you hadn’t noticed before? Or something else?

A mixture of choice, drifiting away from people, them disappearing, mistakes, bad habits and all sorts. I just don't seem like someone who can maintain friendships for the most part. People need to be patient with me and get to know me, and more often than not they don't and presumably decide I'm an arse or something.

It’s odd that you say this. I was 16 in ‘84, and where music had seemed awesomely new and varied in the previous couple of years (we’re talking MTV & suburban Florida here), it was all downhill from there for a number of years.

These are my exact thoughts, and I point the blame partially at Stock/Aitken/Waterman, who took the one of the first steps towards mass-produced 'pop'. I notice a distinct drop in quality and originality post-1984. I'm pleased, interested and satisfied that someone who lived then also finds this to be the case.

Dude, DUDE, I almost hit 46 without even knowing this existed! Thank you, and please understand that you are so, so far ahead of where I was at your age. On the other hand, please take this to heart: there are people out there into stuff you love but you won't learn this for years, and alternately, there are people out there who'll end up awesome who don't seem as such just yet.... Hang in there, man! Keep being you!
