✨ Preview: Oasis Springs Botanical Garden ✨
I’ve been working on a new community lot for Oasis Springs, and I’d love to share a sneak peek before it’s finished. This build is inspired by Middle Eastern and Islamic architecture, since I’m reimagining Oasis Springs into a more culturally rich and regionally inspired world.
A central botanical garden courtyard with water features and lots of seating
A playground with a splash pad in the back for kids and toddlers
A chess courtyard on the right
A community garden on the left
Family-friendly bathrooms (separate men’s and women’s sections, with toddler potties)
Easels for painting, a wishing well, a busker’s spot, a fire pit, a seller's table, a breakdancing-style dance floor, and a fortune teller
Telescopes for stargazing
Right now, you’ll see a lot of sand inside the walls, but all of that will eventually be lush greenery to bring the space to life.
A meditation or prayer room
Indoor lounge areas with couches and water features
More kid-friendly activity spaces
How to use the space under the last tower
What flooring to use on the colonnades and second floor of the towers
⚠️ Important note:
I am not Muslim or Middle Eastern myself, so I want to be respectful and avoid turning this build into a caricature. That’s why I’m sharing it early: I’d love feedback, suggestions, and constructive criticism from Muslim and Middle Eastern simmers.
I’m currently calling this lot Rawdat al-Furḥah (which I understand translates to Garden of Joy). Since I’m not a native speaker, I’d love to know if this name feels accurate, respectful, and appropriate—or if you’d recommend something better.
If there’s anything I’ve gotten wrong—or anything I could include to make this feel more authentic and community-oriented—please let me know.
💡 The goal is for this to be a welcoming, family-friendly space that reflects the beauty and culture of the region, while staying useful and fun for Sims gameplay.
