Today's task for #jcfmay is to share #clothes as a prop. So here are two of my bookish t-shirts with the two books I plan to finish today! All with my Max, of course. 😍❤ . . . . For #MiddleGradeMay, I am reading The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan. I'm currently on page 130 (book is 312 pages long). 😊❤ . . . . And then for a Swap-Bot.com swap, I am reading The Dry by Jane Harper. I'm also listening to this as an audiobook. I'm on page 181 (out of 326 total pages) and have about 4.5 hours left in the audio. 😊❤ . . . . So both of these books should be completed today. Especially seeing as how it's not even noon here right now! 😄🎉❤ . . . . These books will be my 41st and 42nd reads for #bookadayinMay. #Scallywagathon, #MiddleGradeMay, #Duodecathon, #bookadayinMay, AND #jcfmay Update! Whew, I think that's all of the currently ongoing readathons I'm in. I sure hope it is, at least! 😄🎉📚❤ . . . . First, #jcfmay! I forgot to post yesterday. 😢 I read Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi and pretty much left to return it to the library immediately after finishing it. (It was due yesterday, but I returned to the library this morning to check it out again! 😀) So, for yesterday, I have #beads as a prop in the form of two #beadedbracelets. For today's #tea post, I have my favorite mug with a STILL-unopened package of tea from @owlcrate and @riddlesteashoppe. I did find my mother's tea pot, though, so I'm going to try to make this tea soon! 😄🎉❤ . . . . Next up, #Duodecathon! This is a year-long readathon that, every month, has a week wherein we're supposed to read for one of 12 reading challenges. So far this year, I've completed the Read a second book in a series, Read 1,200 pages, Read a book told from multiple points-of-view, Read a book with an antonym in the title, AND Read a banned book! Persepolis 2 serves as my banned book! 😄❤ . . . . For #bookadayinMay, Persepolis 2 was my book for yesterday, and Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi will be my book for today. I WILL finish this book tonight (just 171 pages left to read!). Depending on when I finish it, I might try for a second middle-grade book for today. 😉❤ . . . . And that moves me on to #MiddleGradeMay! As of right now, I have read *just* 23 middle-grade books this month. I'm bummed that I was not able to finish Aru Shah and the End of Time yesterday (I read just 46 pages! 😭), but I still have time to make up for the lost day. 31 middle-grade books for May is still within reach! 😄❤ . . . . Lastly, #Scallywagathon! Aru Shah and the End of Time is the next book I need to complete in order to advance on my map. (The map is Photo Three. The steps are in Photo Four.) #Scallywagathon Update! Also, #bookadayinMay Update! I finished a book! (Second book for Scallywagathon, *31st* book for bookadayinMay!) Starfire: A Red Peace by Spencer Ellsworth was EXCELLENT. I'm going to give it five stars on Goodreads. And I think I need to buy the rest of its trilogy. 🎉⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . This book works for Step 7 (a book with red on the cover) on the Scallywagathon map, which I put in this post with the steps as Photo Two. I'm going from 1 to 7 to B to 9. 😊❤ . . . . Even though I finished this book at just before 11p, and it's now after 11:20p, I'm going to read a book for #MiddleGradeMay. #MiddleGradeMay Update! I decided to read Ramona Quimby, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary instead of The BFG by Roald Dahl for today's middle-grade book. Partly because it was shorter, so I knew I'd be able to finish it while it was still May 22nd (and I did! Finished it at about 10:30p 😊). But mostly because my eyes landed on it as I was searching for The BFG. 😄❤ . . . . I really enjoyed Ramona Quimby, Age 8. It was great getting reacquainted with her and her family. (I somehow managed to remember that her older sister was named Beatrice, even though it's been at least 30 - and probably closer to 35 - years since I last read a Ramona Quimby book!) I will give this book four stars on Goodreads. ⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . Since it's early, I might start The BFG tonight and then maybe finish it tomorrow. Today's task for #jcfmay is to share #jewelry as a prop. For this photo, I had to get my Mom to help! 😊❤ . . . . I present to you some of my #rings. On my left index finger, I have a silver ring that I got from @fragrant_jewels. I could have taken it off, to truly be used as a prop, but the ring that is on my right ring finger is a diamond and white gold ring that I've had on for almost 15 years and I cannot get it off. 😲🙊So I arranged my hands on the book and had Mom snap the photo. 😍❤ . . . . With these two rings, I have a gold ring on my right pinky finger (it used to fit my right ring finger 😢) that I found yesterday when I looked in my Seattle backpack for the headphones. It's my high school class ring and it turns 25 this year! #Ifeelold 🙊 This ring will probably soon go back into the backpack for safekeeping. 😍❤ . . . . My usual prop is in this photo, too. Or at least, one of his feet is. 😉 And all of today's props are with today's book for #MiddleGradeMay: When Mischief Came to Town by Katrina Nannestad! 😍❤ . . . . #MiddleGradeMay Update! (Also #BoutofBooks and #bookadayinMay Update.) I finished a middle-grade book for May 18th! 😄🎉❤ . . . . I am still reading The Emperor of Mars by Patrick Samphire and You by Caroline Kepnes, but when I decided, at around 9:00p, that I had no chance of finishing either today, I decided to try a shorter book. At just 136 pages long, Jake the Fake Keeps It Real by Craig Robinson and Adam Mansbach (illustrated by Keith Knight) was just the book I needed. 😊 . . . . I finished it at just after 11:00p. It was a pretty good story! Great for telling kids to not stress over what they'll be when they grow up: Try different things, let "it" come, and just do what makes you happy. I gave it four stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . I can't remember how many books I've read for #BoutofBooks, but my on-Day-5 page count per day is probably somewhere between 100-200pp. 🤔 . . . . #MiddleGradeMay and #BoutofBooks Update! That didn't take long. I read George's Marvelous Medicine so quickly and Max is still asleep beside me in the same position! 😍❤ . . . . George's Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl was also a very enjoyable story. 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . So now I'm back on track to complete one middle-grade book a day for May.
