Today I learned about the activity called “Midget tossing”.
In the middle of a class about ethics and debates.
It was such an unexpected and new concept to me (plus I had like 4 to 5 hours of sleep the night before) that I started laughing. Laughing so hard I cried for like 5 minutes straight, unable to stop. And trying desperately to do it silently because wtf this is not the moment and you’re seated in the front row, right in front of the professor-
So while I was having my mental breakdown, she was explaining why it was a serious ethical debate between the city that decided it was dehumanizing and banned it, and the midget (dwarf? Is one more acceptable than the other?) who was complaining he lost his income, because that was his actual job.
His job was to go to nightclubs, and then be tossed by people.
With that new knowledge, my life will never be the same.
More than that, seeing a full class debating seriously and quite strongly to determine whether or not being tossed by random people is actually acceptable was the best fucking moment of my life.
