Loreal Feria - Midnight Collection
I've been thinking of dyeing my hair back to black recently. Because I realized as I get older you can't really go back to the hair colour you were naturally born with. As you age, the colour tends to fade. Since, I won't be able to keep my hair black at a certain point, I wanted to go back to black instead of the typical brown shades that I have. I can always dye it back to brown later.
As a result, I decided to go to the drug store and picked up Loreal Feria Midnight Collection. I've used their lighter colour dye before, and it has come out quite nicely. Although it doesn't necessary come out as light as they claim they have on the box. Since, it's a black collection, I doubt I can do no wrong in dyeing my hair.
So the one I picked up from the collection was the "Violet Soft Black - M32". I decided this one because I was thinking the harsh deep black may not seem natural, and I also like the hue of purple that this dye will have when your hair is in direct sunlight.
The instructions and how to mix it all together was fairly simple to follow. However, instead of leaving in the product for 20-30 minutes, I chose to leave in the dye in for 40 minutes since I've tend to notice that my hair have a hard time in picking up the dye. I also covered my hair with a plastic bag so the heat can help the dye enter the hair more.
So this is the final results of the hair colouring...
The Before : My roots were coming out, and my bottom part of the hair was dye as a mahogany tone brown.
After: Instead of the black with the hint of purple it was actually a deep burgundy red brown. It was definitely not black!
I definitely saw some shimmer after colouring my hair, but it was a real disapointment with how the colour was. I also checked on other reviews after I coloured my hair. *Face palm...duh, I should have done this before I dyed it. They all said the same thing. That the colour came out more red than purple and black. Seriously, I think Loreal Feria's midnight collection was slightly misleading in regards to the fact that it's not even colour to the claim colour of BLACK!
But all in all, the colour wasn't bad. It suited me well, and I got some positive compliments on it. Would I try it again? I probably just stick with just pure black dye, and not any other hint or any hue since I really believe it will just mess up colour.
