Pure-Vu Review

Hello Everyone - Sorry for being MIA for soooo long. I apologize.  Trying to launch your career has been taking alot of my time!  So what do I have in store?

My cousin who owns a pharmacy has asked me to try out this towelette called Pure-Vu. It's supposely a easy portable eyemakeup remover wetnap.   So here is my review on it....

I was given the towelette as samples to try:

It looks like wet gauze for bandaging your wounds...:-p

After:

I tried it out twice...and I found that it isn't worth the money or the time to use this product.  I found that I had to wipe it really hard to remove my eye makeup. I tested it by using it all over my face, and it left a slight sticky film on my face afterwards.  I didn't feel like it was completely removing all the makeup from my face. I ended having to wash my face again with a cleanser.  I also felt my eyelids were a little raw from rubbing too hard in getting all the makeup off. I will say that it didn't cause any irritation or trouble to my skin so that's a plus.  But overall, save the $$$, and take the time to use a cleanser to wash your beautiful skin, and help reduce the waste as well.

Braun Silk-épil 7 Wet & Dry epilator

Hello Everyone -

My old epilator was due for retirement when I took it overseas and used the wrong plug converter to turn it on.  :-(

As a result, I decided to purchase the Silk-epil 7 from Braun.  Although while I was overseas, I noticed that in the the Asian Market, epilators are somewhat of a dated method of hair removals.  The idea of having a small portable laser hair removal at home is the current trend.

Back to the Silk-epil 7. There isn't much with this epilator that I don't like.  There is alot of functionality that is definitely useful in shaving.

- It's cordless and portable

- great indicated of when the power is low to know when to recharge

- alot of shaving heads to help soothe and accommodate the different areas that are being shaved

- bright light to shine on hairs that you may missed

-don't have to grow you hair very long to have the epilator to pick up the hair

-2 speed selection

Con:

As mentioned, there isn't much con about this epilator.  Although you can use it when it's wet, I find that it's still difficult for the epilator to pick up the hair when it's wet because the hair is matte down. 

-Perhaps my pain tolerance has lessen but I found this epilator to more painful that my older one, and I found that I developed more skin burn underneath my arm which isn't fun.

-It is alot pricer than some of the other models out there.

However, I definitely think it's worth the $ to purchase it since it's less of a hassle and easy to use.

What's your take on it? I would to hear some feedback on who may have tried this out.  Cheers! :-)

Basic Nail Care

Hello Nail Beautifiers!

Over the past few years, the idea of painting nails have gone through so much dramatic changes.  From being simplistic of just one colour tone, the idea of dressing up nails in every way possible is a fashion and art in itself.  However, the essence of constantly being creative and dramatic in making those nails amazing comes down to the core basic of maintaining good healthy nails.  When you have a good foundation/canvas to work on, the ability to showcase the most beautiful nail art is way easier and more appealing to do.  Basic nail care is must!  So I thought it's great to get a nice refresher on what things is needed for good nail care.

DIY Plastic Spoon Rose

Hello Crafty DIY Lovers -

I found this great website by the blogger name of: Cut out + Keep  that demostrates how to create beautiful rose pendants with just spoons!  It was such a great and cheap way of making one yourself instead of buying it for $20 or more.

I personally don't need to do this since I tend to lack sleep so the puffy eye look is always there.  This is one step I don't have to worry about. Cherimoya Costmetics - Reviews

So I had received a souvenir from a friend that had gone to LA for a trip.  Along with the sounvenir, there was some sample makeup that came along with it.  The costmetic brand was Makeup Cherimoya.  This costmetic brand was unknown to me so I had to do a little research on it. It's based in LA, and it just launched two years ago.  So this brand it's still in it's infant stage.  It appears that this brand market themselves on pretty packaging....as for their makeup...that's a different story.

I found that their packaging is simple and in attempt to try to look elegent. Their lipstick and nail polish packaging looks elegent enough.  However, their quad-colour eyeshadow palette lacks in that catagory.  As for the eyeliner/lipliner pencil it lacks anything unique as well.

For this smoky quad colour palette, I wasn't impressed with the packaging.  It looks very cheap.  Also, when I did a swatch, there isn't much pigment.  It's very light/sheer with tons of glitter.  Why would a smoky shadow have so much glitter? It was easily rubbed off with some soap and water.  I honestly don't like it.

The packaging for the lipstick is matte black and simplistic.  The application was really smooth and creamy texure.  It's nicely pigmentated. It felt nice on, and it was moisturizing at first, but after half an hour or so, it started looking dry.

The lip/eye liner pencil was not a "Thumb Up" for me because the size of it was an odd size that it wouldn't sharpen properly.  The colour was bang on accurate but it doesn't glide nicely.  There is a tendency of slight pulling to the eye.  So I had to use a brush. 

The nail polish was quite nice. I was surprised at the easy application, and there was a nice distribution of glitter.  It dries quite quickly, but the smell is slightly odd.  All in all, I would purchase more colours from this line.

So based on all the products I've tried, I would have to say I would not buy any products from Cherimoya besides their polishes.  However, it's based on my experience with it so I may be wrong.  I have yet to try any of their other items so they have other things that are better.
