Midnight Deal
Tom was driving around New York trying to get to know the city better. He moved in there recently and was curious about it. So now he had the chance to sightsee it a bit.
He already saw Broadwy, Central Park and Statue of Liberty, the boy wondered how the rest of the city was, like Bronks, Brooklyn or the Cloisters.
On his journey he got way too far into the docks. It was already late in the night and it seemed he got lost. Looking for his way back he heard some noises coming from one of the warehouses. Hoping to get some directions from night shift workers Tom got off his bike and walked toward the doors but they were locked. Weird. He furrowed his brows in slight confusion and walked around the building and found a pile of wooden crates and a window.
He looked around if there was someone there besides him but no, the teenager was alone. He climbed them up and peeked through the window, jaw dropping slack. Whatever these men were doing it wasn't sugar they were packing there.
Suddenly one of the men raised his head and saw Thomas and all the Hell broke lose. Everyone reached for a gun and the boy had to save himself by jumping down, the glass exploding above his head. He fell on his four on the ground and dashed to his bike. He heard the metal doors slam open and screaming. He tried to start up his bike but it seemed that his luck was getting worse as the engine stubbornly refused to ignite. Bullets started to fly around him. One shot off his sunglasses from his nose. There was no time to put the helmet on.
Finally after what it felt like an eternity the bike roared back to life and he pushed himself from the ground, leaving the place. For a moment he was safe, the shouts staying behind him, but then a black van blocked his way and the boy had to abruptly hit the breaks, the tires screeching loudly and he nearly fell off his saddle as he tried to get back in control of his machine. In a split of second he made a turn into one of the narrow alleys, once more escaping the machine gun series but not without getting his in his leg and couple times in the shoulder. One grazed over his temple, blood streaming down his face. His eyes switching between blue, yellow and furious red as he fought to not lose it.
He drove fast for a good while, making rabid series of turns, trying to lose his tail and after a moment he looked back seeing that no one was following him anymore.
Tom took a deep breath in, his hammering heart nearly in his throat and the adrenaline pulsing in his ears. He was safe... for now. He returned his eyes back on the road and once more he had to hit the breaks rapidly, otherwise he'd run over a man who appeared like out of nowhere!
The panic raising up again and eyes flickered into yellow and red, the bike stopped inches from the strangers and the boy growled at him in warning, not recognizing a friend or foe in his predicament. He was ready to attack any moment.
