Since Bioware has a means of determining what choices players made most often, do you think that it is possible that they will utilize this to create the baseline setting for the next Dragon Age game?
In a way perhaps, but not by completely getting rid of the other choice. For example, most people had a Grey Warden alive (Alistair or Loghain) and so you can see they have more dialogue/throwback references, but for those who killed them you had Stroud. Not as in-depth/personal of a character, but still there for the choice.
It would be a very slim chance and a very insignificant choice for Bioware to permanently change it to canon. For instance, with Anders in Awakening. Few people killed or refused to recruit Anders in Awakening and so they actually brought him back in DA2 regardless, but it was such an insignificant and open-ended choice in Awakening (Awakening itself was pretty much this way) anyways.
So maybe, but only the smallest choices. So something like Kieran being born will probably not be a future baseline plot, because so many people don’t have him and it was too big of a choice (a main choice).
