I wonder if you could somehow tie together both as being a spell or daemon magic gone wrong? Maybe Noct gets the golden touch but he doesn't realize it until he touches one of his weapons, or something he's picking up after a battle (it'd be super angsty if it was a person aksldmlasksaldm) and each time he uses the power, part of his body also slowly turns to gold? or it's just a time thing, they need to cure him before a certain time otherwise he turns to gold himself?

Ooooh, I actually really like that! I love the idea that it might be a time thing, like something they won’t quite realise at first, so it just seems to be more of an annoyance (although a slightly dangerous one!) in the beginning, but once they notice what’s happening to him, then the race is on to find a way to cure it. And ohhhh god, I knowww, it’d be so angsty if he turned one of his friends (or anyone really) to gold, but I’m not sure if I’m actually strong enough for that lol??? Honestly, I’m just loving anything to do with this concept for now lol. My brain was even trying to throw Ardyn in amongst it, trying to make it more unusual or mythological or something, and I’m just like yessss, but I also want it to be the classic whump style too XD

(I am, I swear! I just... get less sleep to get homework done ^^;;) Yesss, I'm always weak for Noct pushing himself too hard, darling boy!! It's interesting to think about how the residual magic could affect Noct! I know the "fire under the skin" look only happens with the ring, but could you imagine it happening when his magic goes haywire? Or maybe he warps chaotically (kinda like the Leviathan fight) or the Old Kings could maybe "lend" power?? idk! Poor Noct just loses himself! (1/2)

(2/2) Just thought about how Noct would keep his magic scars hidden at all times if possible, so imagine the first time Gladio sees them after the revelation? And I imagine that when Noct’s power goes out of control, it can hurt him sometimes, so ofc Gladio is even more eager to help him control it! SAME, I LOVE ALL IGGY AND NOCT FLUFF. Ignis talking Noct back down when his magic goes haywire!! Soft touches and quiet, comforting words!! Oh, but I wonder how Tenebrae went if Noct put the ring on?

I have to admit, I loooove the way it looks when he has the fire under his skin, so I’d basically take any excuse to include that in anything XD So yeah, maybe it could still happen to him when his magic is all out of control. Maybe his magic lashes out at people he doesn’t recognize or feel safe around when it’s like this? Like it’s in a sort of hyperalert mode and sees nearly everything as a threat? Except obviously there are people who can remain safe around it and can talk to him (Regis, Ignis, maybe Cor and Clarus, then Gladio, then Prompto).Seeing the scars would be like a huge punch to Gladio, I bet. Like hearing about what happened is one thing, and then seeing the scars he bears because of it is another thing entirely. He’s just a kid after all, with terrible scars from such a terrible power. And once Gladio sees what happens when Noct’s power goes haywire, I bet he’d come up with all kinds of plans to try and keep him calm and safe in the future, but maybe also a way for Noct to become used to it and maybe use it to his advantage.I just love the idea of Regis and the others being a good support system for Noctis to make sure that he’s well and in control, but wooowww, could you imagine how paranoid the council would be about it lol (because surely they must be aware of it all too)?And as for Tenebrae, if you mean when Niflheim attacks it, well any scenario I’ve imagined of Noct putting the ring on has always taken place after Tenebrae, whether right directly after or even a few years after. But it’d be pretty cool if he did it during the attack lol. Imagine him being able to wipe Glauca and his troops out just like that XD It’d be a good blow to the empire, would maybe save Tenebrae, and would (hopefully) prevent the Kingsglaive betrayal - but at a horrible cost, god damn.

Oh man, honestly Adanna could fill a book with the reasons she loves Erik (but she’s a bit too prideful for that), but I guess the reason she loves him most?

He’s so gosh dang caring. For her and his brothers.

The entire time the guys stay at the mansion and she gets to know them all, she finds herself being comfortable with him in a way that she never expected. He’s so attentive to her that very quickly he’s able to read her almost as fast as Damien can.

Uncomfortable? Immediately removes her from the situation. Dissociating? Gently tries to bring her back to reality. Panic attack? Soft words and gentle touches, calming her down but being absolutely careful not to worsen the situation. And he respects her need to keep those things secret and private, and doesn’t press the issue unless she endangers herself.

And honestly? His caring-ness is also something that bothers her, because while it’s clear that he loves her dearly, it’s obvious that he thinks so lowly of himself and so highly of her.

And that bothers her.

When their relationship finally starts a few weeks after Diana leaves (because I love me some slow burn with a side of heart-felt confessions), the two of them take some time to really address what they actually are. And Adanna immediately shuts down his ideas of ‘Mistress and Servant’ that he’s been carrying around since he started living here. She wants to make sure he knows that they’re equals, and their relationship can’t be just him giving and her taking. Despite his flirty demeanor it’s shown throughout that Erik honestly doesn’t think too highly of himself, and when he’s around Adanna he has this air of just...not deserving her, I guess?

There’s no hierarchy here, and he doesn’t have to live up to his mother’s expectations around her. No masks, no fake personas. They’re just themselves, and that’s what she likes most. They both have some deep rooted issues as a result of bad childhoods, and they’re working through that together.

Noct trying to cover the scars with gloves that he still wears when he's older, it works! I wonder if wearing the Ring so young would affect him in other ways? More potent magic maybe, hearing the whispers of the Crystal/the Lucii,etc etc. ALSO SAME, I'm totally a believer of that "Gladio doesn't understand the consequences of the Ring" headcanon too, which is why it's always so interesting when people include his reactions to the Ring in fics!

Ohhh man, it’d be so cool if it would affect him in such ways (and I’m such a huge sucker for ideas where his magic gets out of control/needs more effort to tame lol, so more potent magic yes pls XD). And yesss, it’s so good when people make fics about Gladio and the ring! There needs to be mooreeee XD

Hey, you could possibly tie in that other ring idea with scars and wild magic with this one, or aspects of it! Noct wearing a leg brace earlier in life, maybe even needed a cane and Regis is just wrecked when he sees his little boy who was forced to age too quickly.

Oops, hit reply too quickly -- Also imagine Noct having barely any time to see his friends either if Cor & Clarus sort of take up the role as his advisor and Shield? And poor Noct always struggles to deal with a Council that is mostly against his reign, and while he has worked to help his people, opposers are quick to use his age against him. I JUST WANT REGIS & NOCT TO BE HAPPY AHHH, all they want is to spend time together!! ;;;_;;;

Yeah, no doubt they’d end up with similar themes/concepts regarding the ring and Noct’s use of it. I love the idea of him using a cane, maybe he needs one for his bad days, when his body is just not cooperating with him? I keep getting this image in my head, of Regis needing to lie in a hospital bed to recover from whatever ordeal he’s gone through, and Clarus and Cor are with him to reunite and talk with him, etc, and then Noctis comes in because he’s finally managed to get the chance to pull away from his duties. He’s got his leg brace, maybe even the cane, he’s got scars, and he looks tired and weary even though he’s just a teenager. When Cor and Clarus leave to give them both some time together, they bow their heads respectfully and call him “Your Majesty” and Regis notices the ring and the crown and it just full on hits him in the face and he’s so, so sad, devastated even, because he knows exactly what that all means and just DDDDD: I’m not sure what would happen with Gladio, they’d probably not see each other as much, but I like to think that Ignis would still be close by, act more like his personal assistant or something. I just refuse to find it hard to believe that Ignis would allow them to drift apart since they’ve known each other since they were little kids. Maybe Clarus and Cor would keep Ignis and Gladio close by and teach them for when the time comes for them to step in and serve Noctis instead? Also, with the council, I like to think that, once he’s given a place on it, Regis notices the way they treat Noct and absolutely won’t stand for it, puts them all in their place and reminds them to actually serve their king properly. Because pap bear!Regis is everything lol.
