👅😂😍
Hardest sound for you to make in your target lang?
The 3rd tone probably? ( ˇ - kinda looks like a check mark)
Honestly, idk how to answer these cause I’ve never really learned a language how most people have. Taking chinese classes in high school and college was always more about the reading/writing for me since I was fluent in speaking/listening. Target Lang - Mandarin Chinese which I’ve learned along with English since I was a kid so..? Japanese - kinda self taught through watching a ton of anime (LOL) and the occasional language app.
Share a joke, pun, or meme in your target lang.
Had to google this one cause I have no clue.
Q: 谁是最坏的超级英雄? (shéi shì zuì huài de chāo jí yīng xióng?) - Who is the worst superhero?
A: 失敗的人! (shī bài de rén!) - A loser!/Spider Man
“What does “shi bai de” sound like in English? Here, the joke utilizes the Chinese transliteration of “Spider” + Chinese translation of “Man,” which is “shi bai de” + 人(rén). When you apply different tones, “shi bai de” + 人 takes on different meanings. And in this case, the reason why Spider-Man is the worst superhero is because the homophone means “loser.”

Tell me 3 things you like about your target lang.
1. Knowing chinese allows me to understand some basic stuff in japanese and korean cause of overlaps.
2. (I guess more of a me thing than about the language in general) I’ll never experience how difficult it is to learn the language despite Chinese is a more difficult language for most people. Sometimes out of curiosity I wish I knew what chinese sounded like for someone who doesn’t understand it or what it’s like to learn it from scratch.
3. idk I guess this could be say for any language but unintentionally eavesdropping on people?
