Good evening, and my sincerest apologies for the several days and nights of silence from our end. My name is Memento. I am the second-in-command of our Lunite squadron - I only take command when Prince Corrin is unable to. That being said, we are in a state of minor emergency. Our beloved leader, Prince Corrin, has been captured.
As of late, we have done our best to be careful, as we could all sense that something was wrong outside the Garden. But we weren’t careful enough. The Prince is stubborn, and was rather tired of waiting. He insisted that we explore a nearby desert Dreamstate, as he had never seen such a climate before. Hesitantly, we all went with him. It was nice, for a while. Naturally, we had to stop him from stumbling into all manner of dangerous things, but that was par for the course.
Between the lot of us, one might expect eyes to be on the Prince at all times. But all it takes is a bit of wandering on his part for us to lose track of him - hence the bell on his neck. However, as we searched the barren sands, we quickly realized that not a single one of us could hear the beacon bell. But Nycto and Nocti had taken to the skies, and they saw what we could not. They managed to catch sight of two Midnites escorting our Prince from the Dreamstate. We weren’t fast enough to give chase, instead agreeing to return to the Garden and formulate a plan of rescue.
The reason I categorize this as a minor emergency is thus: Prince Corrin is an incredibly important authority figure within the Dreamscape. The Midnites know this, and they, along with their commander, will have no intention of harming the Prince. They see value in keeping him safe and healthy, and rightfully so. He could be useful for any number of things, and we have no way of knowing what the group could be planning. But rest assured, no harm will come to Prince Corrin. Of this, I am certain.
We have been without him for less than a sun. We've deliberated for quite some time, but as of now we are still unsure of our next steps. Everyone has different ideas and methods that they believe will work, but we simply can’t come to a proper agreement. We need not worry, however. I’m confident that the enemy is taking their sweet time. Midnites are cocky, and such a mindset oft leads to reckless behaviour. They think we’ll never find them. But we will. It is only a matter of time.
