An update on several recent events:
First and foremost, the mortal who had previously rescued me alongside their dragon. They never gave me their own name or the name of the dragon, but they were kind enough to at least reveal that the beast was actually a Lunite that simply preferred to stay in its spirit form. The two of them travel the Dreamscape together. I have no idea how they knew I needed rescuing, or even where I was, but I am grateful for their assistance. They’ve since left for other Dreamstates, but I suspect I’ll see them again someday.
Next is the matter of Sapphire... I haven’t seen her since that night. However, I did remember our first meeting. It was many, many mortal years ago. I have no way of knowing how old my Waking Self was back then, but they were smaller than they are now. It was long before they knew of the Dreamscape and how it functioned. I remember it vaguely, but Sapphire was definitely there. It’s so hazy... I wish I knew what our relation was, and what led to our extended separation. I get an aching feeling that we were once very close friends...
And finally, our most common issue: the Midnites. As it always is, they have recently attempted to intrude on my group’s adventures. Once again, we encountered a Midnite we had never seen before. I can’t recall what they looked like, or what they were capable of, but I do remember that they were scary.
As we so often are, the Lunites and I were playing tag - this time out in a vast field with a small series of buildings nearby. Whenever one of us got tagged, we would shapeshift into a cute monstrous form to let the others know that we switched teams. My monster form was a pink pixie/imp-like creature. I was not the one to pick it out, as I do not possess the ability to transform myself. Vanity chose it for me, I believe!
At some point, the aforementioned Midnite came to crash the party. At first, we all hid inside the nearby buildings, in the hopes that they would go away. I personally did not want to have to face such a terrifying spirit. But they just wouldn’t leave... They ended up finding my hiding place inside a cabinet, so the Lunites jumped to my rescue and challenged my attacker. I think we won, because I remember seeing them flee the scene from where I had taken refuge.
I’ve noticed that Midnites always run away when they’re close to losing. It’s a very smart decision on their part, but it is rather annoying! We can’t possibly stop them for good if they continue to regroup like this.
The fight left several Lunites incapacitated, but they’ve since recovered. It is always such a wondrous and relieving sight to see them reform right before my very eyes.
My apologies for the brief period of silence! I have found that, recently, it has been more difficult to recall my adventures. I’m hoping that the foggy spell will fade soon enough! If not, well... you might have to wait longer. Perhaps I’ll find other things to talk about in the meantime! There is plenty to discuss~
