This week I won the Haba Poetry Award for this poem and five others, now published in the Midrivers Review. • Last night I participated in a poetry contest with some close friends and had the time of my life. • This morning I spoke at my old high school about why I love writing. I was blown away by the students who fearlessly performed their work in front of hundreds of their peers- I did not have the same courage they do when I was in high school. I was also very impressed by the students who planned Timberland’s Lit Fest and I’m so happy to see everyone embracing the literary community! • Today I’m especially grateful for the gifts, passion, and opportunities God has given me.
