Hear me out. What if. CRK AU with Midsummer Night's Pure Vanilla and White Lily (platonic wedding) ruling the fairy kingdom together. Sage of Truth Shadow Milk is the court sorcerer/sage/astronomer. Pureshadow secret love affair (it's not secret, White Lily and everyone within the castle knows and are fine with it but for political reasons they kinda need to hide it from the people). Silver Bell and Candy Apple (who would just be Apple Fairy here) are White Lily's ladies in waiting. Black Sapphire is Shadow Milk 's apprentice. And they just kinda exist together.

“Midsummer’s Daydream” is a beautifully constructed acoustic guitar piece that blends classical guitar styling with some typical heavy metal guitar runs while never losing the core of the song. While there have been other acoustic showcases on previous albums, this one, like the album itself, is where Rik Emmett’s efforts all come together. After listening to a piece like this, it is little wonder that Emmett would eventually go on to a successful solo career as an instrumental jazz guitarist.

This was a complete anomaly to me as a teen. Until I heard this album, the only other times I’d heard an acoustic guitar played anything like this was Randy Rhoads on “Dee” and Eddie Van Halen replicating his electric style on “Spanish Fly”. This falls somewhere in between the two and incorporates elements of both - the composition and melody of “Dee” and the deft speed of Van Halen.
