And now the deluge of liberal press asking how they could have lost the midterms begins. Here, let me help you with that:
Democrats are shit at mobilizing their base. Republicans are pretty fucking good at it.
Democrats allowed Republicans to hijack the national conversation for the past 6 years.
Democrats don't try hard enough to expand their base. There were no real education or PR efforts in states that tend to vote Republican. "Why do people vote against their own interests?" Because you did nothing to counteract the people lying to them.
I've said this one million times and I'll say it again: The Democratic Party treats people in poor red states like mine like we're the shit they scraped off their shoe. Please tell me why I should actively support a party that ignores my needs and treats me like the butt of every joke.
"But the Democrats won't ignore your needs! The Republicans are the ones that don't care." That's true, the Republicans don't care. But, I'm going to need you the read this article about how the ACA failed in Mississippi (we actually have more uninsured residents now) in large part because Democrats abandoned us as a lost cause, and then get back to me on how they won't ignore our needs.
Democrats tout themselves as the party that represents women and minorities, but tends to throw us under the bus at the first political opportunity. It's hard to get people to turn out and vote for someone like that. "But the Republicans won't do anything to help you!" Yeah, and at least they're fucking honest about it.
I'm obviously not excited about a Republican controlled Congress for the next 4 years, so holy shit Democratic Party, step up your game.
