there's a gentleness to the way tj smiles from up in the booth. he didn't hate the concept -- friends getting married and dragging everyone on a cruise for their honeymoon. it meant everyone got a little party out of it. of course a cruise with a bunch of artists usually meant copious amounts of legal and illegal substances. the rest of the patrons probably thought his constant state of drinking la croix ( and la croix adjacent drinks ) was silly, but their friends didn't. even dragged up there to dj for a song or two, his hand is cold from something weak, not something strong.

he shouldn’t be here. the white walls of the lab are a cold and harsh environment , a place that miecz should never have to see. he’d heard little bits and pieces , bite sized horror stories that has slipped from jason’s mouth , but he never should’ve witnessed this. jason’s not stupid , he knows his dad can handle himself , but the fear still pounds in his chest. small body trembles , stares up at the silhouette of his dad in disbelief. his form in the doorway of his tiny concrete cage , moving closer both at high speed and in slow motion.
he’s in his dad’s arms before he knows it , soaking wet and bloodied , clinging to the familiar torso. he can barely stand , though he’s sure his dad would’ve picked him up even if he could. the boy is clearly smaller than he was when he got taken again , has clearly gone through horrible things in his containment. the gash in the center of his face was proof enough of that. he clings tightly to his dad’s body , buries his head in his shoulder. some part of him doesn’t believe they’ll make it out , is just trying to make the most out of this moment before he inevitably ends up locked away again.
