Those four words plagued the blond's mind as he stared at Deku, his eyes searching for something in the other boy's face. Maybe anger, distrust, something along the lines of hate, but what he sought the most was recognition. None of which he found.
With hands on his hips, he tried to piece the story together for when they returned to Aizawa and the rest of the class. They had been on patrol when they came across a bank robbery, things turned south when they met the two quirk users in charge of the heist. The fight had started with them having the high ground, quickly taking a hold of the situation until the two villains turned the tables, taking advantage of a distraction when the explosive hero took a jab at his partner for one of his maneuvers.
Meeting someone with an ability like their sensei's always proved troublesome, so when they were both held down, powerless, and with a gun to their head, there was only one way out of the situation.
It had all happened too fast. Bakugou felt the end of a gun to his head, the sharp bite of metal making him sweat, and though he thrashed around and tried to free himself, it all proved to no use. The other villain raised a deal in that moment, taking one of the boy's memories in exchange for their lives. It made sense, after all, both of the villain's faces were covered, and with one of them without any account of what had happened, it was almost impossible for them to get caught afterwards.
Izuku agreed before Katsuki could even object, the villain was even faster to respond, not even letting them give it second thought before she harshly pressed her fingers against the young hero's temple. Bakugou cursed and thrashed under the other villain's hold as if something possessed him, he felt so utterly useless, and the feeling only grew as emerald and crimson gaze met, the warm familiarity of Deku's eyes slowly fading away. From there, everything went red. The last thing Katsuki could vividly remember was his partner limp on the floor and the villains making a run for it.
Like he would even give them the chance.
The cops arrived as the villains finished collecting their loot and prepared to run, leaving the two heroes to their own defenses. Blind rage coursed through hot veins, Bakugou felt the way his power came to life once again a moment after the villains left, quickly leaving an unconscious Izuku to the supervision of the police before he chased after the villains. Civilian witnesses could only describe the chase as if a demon emerged from hell.
The ground shook from uncontrolled explosions and the cries of a hotheaded hero echoed through the streets, but the blond came victorious from such fight. He took into custody a really beat up pair of villains, rendering the quirk manipulator just as useless as he had felt, barely even opening his eyes and fried clothes and patches of skin causing endless pain. As for the other, he had knocked them unconscious and badly injured, but they would wake up later, he had to make sure that they could undo whatever they had done to Deku.
After the fight, he had returned to the scene to turn in the villains and pick up his somewhat-unconscious partner, taking him in his arms before heading to UA. Hushed whispers and concerned glances were thrown their way as they walked the hallways, a deep scowl planted on Bakugou's features. He had tried to make it to Recovery Girl's office when Izuku began to wiggle himself out of the blond's arms, quickly setting him down to check on his state.
So there they were, sitting one across from the other in the dorm's living room area, an uncomfortable silence ready to be broken. He mustered up enough courage to lean forward, his eyes darting for any signs of hurt or discomfort.
"Deku, what do you remember?"
