Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, my name is SunlitSparks, though you can call me Sparkles (or Aster, or Sparks, or even Sunny LOL). I’ve been a fan of the Sonic franchise for nearly 18 years now, and have been an aspiring writer for around 13 years. Though I’ve written many fanfics and original stories over the years, nothing was ever finished or published, so this will be the first piece of mine to ever go public! I just wanted to give a big thank you to @sthbigbang on Tumblr for organizing this event and bringing together so many wonderful and talented people! You guys have really created a community that I feel comfortable and safe in, and just overall feels so uplifting! I struggle badly with mental health and in many instances I came close to backing out of this project entirely…but I held strong and persevered, and can finally say I have a (semi) finished final result to share with fans! I also want to thank my editor @idasandia, who has been very patient with me and incredibly helpful towards my goal of making this piece as amazing as possible. Furthermore I’d like to thank my artists @peachy-keenss, @gwekkuu, and @sal421 for creating wonderful art pieces to go along with this fic; definitely go check them out!! This will be a multi-part fic, possibly with 2 or 3 (or even 4) parts by the time it is all wrapped up, but here’s part 1! I hope you have as much of a blast reading it as I did writing it.
