Kaz scoops Chase up after he's been in Mission Command for two nights straight, but accidentally flustered himself in the process so he started a small fire from embarrassment.

When I get a hyperfixation on a show for long enough, I tend to make fanart, I love lab rats and mighty med and the crossover was my favorite show. I ship these two cause kaz actually stands up for Chase un like everyone else typically and he's more friendly towards him then others.

I imagine kaz tends to sit in mission command and annoy chase while he works but Chaze secretly doesn't mind all that much but acts like it annoys him.

Also durring the episode with the robot girlfriends, Chase cleary has a type which is loyal "bimbos" from what was shown, and Kaz is a loyal himbo so.... bi chase for the win.

Something something contrast between Kaz & Oliver’s inherit need for anonymity and the Lab Rats basically fully rejecting it. Kaz and Oliver didn’t grow up in a lab only being taught to do one thing. Kaz and Oliver have people they need to protect still. They can’t take the same risks the others do.

musing about collegiate hcs

I've seen a couple of fics kick around the idea of a college au and it makes me want to see Oliver talk Kaz into applying for med school. Not a fight, necessarily, but what on Earth is Kaz no last name's motivation to do more school. Several years of more school, since he'd have to get an undergraduate degree first, and then take the mcat, before even factoring in medical school itself. What is the incentive for that? He could legally put doctor on his government paperwork? Fr it would take so much prodding to get him on board for college and even then I feel like it only happens if the school offers something similar to BGSU's popular culture degree.

I feel like they would be at least three years into their bachelor programs before Ollie is successful on the medical school front. The whole time Kaz is just like "you should definitely go you'll do great" and Oliver lowkey tearing his hair out trying to mindgame Kaz into agreeing to go with him. He succeeds of course, but it takes a lot longer than he anticipated, and it kind of only works bc Kaz did end up enjoying college a lot more than he thought he would. Med school is a nightmare but it's a nightmare for everybody so they both make it to the end with doctorates in hand. Kaz goes from ninth to second most bragged about child by his parents.

i just spent the last couple of weeks reading your entire LREF rewrite and can i just say HOLY SHITTT you're such a talented writer, i'm accepting this as canon from now on instead of the mess that is the actual spin off show. the concept of bringing the LR and MM characters together for a spin off was a great idea in theory but disney executed it so poorly. but your rewrite really allowed the concept to reach its full potential, better than anything disney could've done. even though disney was limited by having to keep EF kid friendly, that didn't stop them from making LR and MM individually great shows.

i love how you kept some things canon and anything you did change felt so natural. even back when i was a young teenager watching EF when it first premiered, it never made sense to me that they glossed over Mighty Med being bombed so quickly. i love how your rewrite slowly builds up to the catastrophe of the bombing instead of it happening off screen and only mentioned once. i also love that you gave the "touching the Arcturion and gaining superpowers" plot to Leo instead of Bree. love my girl but it never made sense she suddenly wanted more powers in EF that she was willing to risk her life to get them when in LR, she felt the most trapped over being bionic that she went as far as to smash her chip, plus her motivation being a random ranking made by a 10 year old child was stupid as hell. meanwhile, Leo always wanted to be part of that world and even tho you had him accidentally touch the rock, he's the LR character that would be the happiest and most "deserving" of getting superpowers. and ik it's a popular thing to put in fics, but i love that you made Chase and Skylar co-leaders. them being co-leaders in fics is so common that sometimes i forget it's not canon, but i'm glad bc it feels way more in character than them getting rid of the leader position entirely.

i love how you flesh out all the characters (especially the main 5) while still maintaining their canon personalities. so much of the dialogue you wrote felt like actual conversations the characters would have in the shows, the banter and dynamics between the 4 Dooley-Davenport siblings were especially well done. i love that your version of Adam is a lot more mature and the unsavoury parts of his and Chase's dynamic are actually addressed instead of just played for laughs. i get that they're sitcom characters but even in the show, Adam breaking down crying when he thought Giselle killed Chase to going back to insulting him the next episode was so frustrating. i was hoping that moment would have a positive impact on their relationship going forward but they just return to the status quo.

i also love that you gave Kaz and Oliver training arcs and showed how they handled the adjustment of going from regular teens to superheroes. it makes sense they'd struggle with their powers and learning how to fight, vs ppl who were born into that life like Chase, Bree and Skylar. and i love how you added a few moments to show how sheltered Bree and Chase still are since they've only been in the outside world for a few years. for example when they were confused over some creep hitting on them in The Lamest Origin Story cuz it makes perfect sense that 2 young adults who spent most of their lives in a basement in a California small town wouldn't be familiar with the concept of catcalling. it also makes perfect sense Chase didn't know how the subway worked in Falling since i doubt Mission Creek had an extensive public transit system, and even if it did, his rich ass definitely never used it lol

sorry this message was longer than i was planning but to end off, if you ever add a new fic to your LREF rewrite i'd be so excited to read it! no rush ofc!

I still plan to finish it! I actually miss writing so I might manage to get something written soon! If i do, itll probably be another installment of the beach episode or the next chronological thing.

Oliver has a bad day. Could come after this post but could be any nebulously sour mood befallen upon Oliver.

"Why aren't you at work, Kaz?"

"Because you're not there."

"You can't just skip because I'm sad! There are still people to help."

Yeah, you, cuz you're sad. You deserves help too."

"No, I don't!"

Kaz blinks at him. Then , instead of arguing the point, he says, "Let's go to the park!"

Kaz starts herding him along, and Oliver plants his feet to stall him. "I don't want to go anywhere."

"Sure you do. It's quiet there but not too quiet, and nobody will try to talk to you and we can stop for snacks."

They go to the park.

Oliver still doesn't want to be here, so once they sit at a picnic table away from the dogs walking and playing children, Oliver stares off into the middle distance. Kaz will get bored and give up eventually, and then Oliver can mope by himself like he wants.

It doesn't matter that the sun feels nice, or that the breeze is perfect. It doesn't matter that the background noise of happy people does make him feel a little better about the world.

Kaz shifts in the corner of his eye, and he waits for chatter that he can pointedly ignore, but it doesn't come. Oliver tries to look without looking like he's looking and sees a notebook. Kaz draws an umbrella. Then another one. Then another one, but this one is caught in a tree that looks like the oak trees in the park.

Oliver can't believe that Kaz is trying to wait him out. He's outraged that it might work, since the sunshine really is getting to him. After a while, Kaz starts humming. Oliver huffs an almost laugh. He listens for a minute before realizing he's humming lollipop.

"Why?"

"Kaz looks up, confused. "Why what?"

"Why would you have lollipop of all songs in your head?"

"Because sometimes it gets stuck in my head when I think about you." He's so nonchalant, like it should be obvious. He gets a silly fifties song stuck in his head sometimes when he thinks about Oliver, who he's thinking about right now. Like it should be obvious. Like it should be obvious that Kaz would sit here doodling quietly instead of helping actual superheroes because Oliver is having a bad day. "That's so...you are so...I hate you." He does. Oliver hates Kaz so bad. "Never leave me."

"Wasn't planning on it."
