Most of us have heard of Conan the Barbarian, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, etc... but have you heard of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser? My father turned me onto these characters after I read the Hobbit when I was young... come to think of it, I am not sure my father knew what he was suggesting when he recommended these. Anyway, great series by author Fritz Leiber. The first compilation of the original short stories, "Swords and Deviltry," is a book I reread quite often. It contains the origin stories of the two characters, a fun read. The series were captured in graphic novel format by the great Mike Mignola, I think my first run in with his work.
