Omg I'm in love, this first chapter was short but fantastic!! I'm honestly already hooked and waiting desperately for more. Do you ever plan on posting this on ao3? Also, thanks for your hard work in writing this!!
Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to send through something (´∀`*)! I’m glad you enjoyed the story and I hope there’s more chapters to come though things may be a bit slow going at first
I have an Ao3 account, but it might be a while before I start posting on there as I also have other stories that I’m working on that aren’t going so well (T ^ T)
Apologies for not being so active ! ..・ヾ(。><)シ I’ve been working on a few upcoming Aus and hope that I’ll be having some of them out soon!
But for now, I give you a small teaser of a Yuri on Ice fic that is due to be finished by next week sometime~
Thank you to @mikkapi for once again bringing around inspiration for this fic and @shelliihe for opening up new possibilities with their adorable style and work with the language of flowers! Also a shoutout the amazing @sleepyfortress (who is also a wonderful artist) for helping me through this fic, despite having a lot to do already!
If you have time, please check out their works and give them a few compliments to their work; all three of them draw differently, but the same joy and care in drawing can be seen in their artistryヽ(>∀<☆)ノ !
I hope that you have all had a wonderful week and I look forward to being able to post the fic next week...
Victor, although he disliked admitting it, had next to no experience in being a coach. Nor was he a natural. He was able to skate around, surprise the crowd and throw out his smiles. The flowers, the kiss and cry, the anxiousness, he could handle.
Training Yuuri Katsuki was another story entirely. He knew that the Japanese man was not typically one to show off. In fact, he was the exact opposite of his Russian counterpart, Yuri Plisetsky, found in the shadows more often than the spotlight.
When Yuuri started to panic about the placings, he started to worry as well, for other reasons. How was he to keep control of the situation when he couldn’t even help Yuuri? Victor had already tried many ways to bring him out, but none of them worked well.
“Just have more faith than I do that I’ll win! You don’t need to say anything, just stand by me.”
He remembered the words starkly. He had hoped the words he said weren’t stretching it too far, but when he saw the clear pearls at the edge of Yuuri’s eyes that threatened to fall and did, he did not know what to do.
Saying that he was bad with tears was a truth. Maybe even an understatement when he saw Yuuri crying. Though he thought the offered kiss would help, he wished he could have reached out and held him right then.
He had done what he wanted - to shatter the skater’s heart - however seeing it actually happen was another story. The instant crack of the heart as he pronounced all his worries and anxieties made him go quiet and think. Maybe putting a knife to the other’s heart would have helped to bring him down, so that Yuuri could be rebuilt back up. He didn’t like it though
The silence as they headed out of the basement was suffocating on both ends, especially for the coach. As a way of comfort, he put an hand around the raven haired man’s shoulders, finding them slightly stiff, but more relaxed than before when he had dragged them down. Yuuri didn’t shrug him away, which he counted as a victory.
As they stepped out into the lights, Victor held him close, the two pulling up a front as they continued on down the path. It was the only thing Victor could do for him right then. There was nothing more to be done.
