So. I don’t need to say anything. Look at this adorable little morsel right here. He posted this on his IG and I just cud not. I cud simply not. He hogged ALL the cuteness.

And u wud put him in ur lap and let him play and chew on ur phone as long as he wanted and tickled his neck and tummy just to see him coo and giggle and kick his legs.

For the Love of Dormtainment..with my grown self.

So.. I’ve never understood “fan-girling” and all that jazz until now. Until I’ve come across Dormtainment. Look..so because I am such a DT enthusiast, of course I watch ALL things Dormtainment. Especially while I’m at work between calls and tryna finish my homework. The comedic relief I get keeps a whole lot of y’all from getting cussed out. Trust me. So needless to say, I’ve pretty much run out of things to watch. I can literally mouth every word to just about every skit.

And then I stumbled across Ustream.

Y’all…..

At first I was like, “*sigh*, Marissa..this is sooo parched to be sitting here watching live videos from like, 2 years ago.” But, no. This is awesome. They are so good..just so organically good! It’s just so genuine. It’s like…have u ever met a person and u just *clicked* with them. Then they were all, “Lemme introduce u to my friends” And the friends were just as great too. The way they interact with one another. The chemistry. The humor. The sarcasm. The wit. The fine-ness.

The Thirst.

I know they’re currently touring and just moved to L.A and probably have been too busy to properly settle in (aww) but when they do, I hope they continue with this. This U-stream. It’s just fun to listen to. Most of the time I can’t see what they’re doing cuz my head is down figuring out problems, or on another screen putting in orders or what have u..but it’s extremely entertaining, never the less.

I adore how interactive they are! I saw one where they called a few fans. I’m pretty sure they did that a lot but that was the only one I came across. Bruh…do u kno the extent to which my grown ass would flip out if they called me?? My grown, cynical, sarcastic self who gets excited over nothing-except DT, lately. Like, on Sunday..I schedule things around 6:00 so I can make sure to not miss a skit. Even tho it will be on YouTube or their website and I can watch it at my discretion. I just wanna be like, the first to see it. But fam, I’m in my 20’s tho. Like, dead in the middle of them. I’m supposed to be drinking wine and filing my taxes, not waiting for a certain time to watch something online. Y’all…I can’t.

Oh! Then they gave all kindsa DT tea. Like how they were in the Shop Boyz “Party Like A Rockstar” video at the end in the KISS face paint. And it is a SHAME that the real KISS members are rock icons and I can’t tell one from another (other than the tongue-man..for obvious reasons) but I was introduced to DT in like, October and I cud tell who was who.

Just the THIRST of it all.

No. But this is the clencher. Chaz mentioned he was in two videos (a fan asked were they “video hoes”. Ha.) One was Joe Budden “Pump it Up” and the other was LSG and Loon, “Friends”. And. I. Found. Him. In both. Like, OMG.What iswrong with me??! I’ve always prided myself on my cynicsm and Daria-like stoicsm. I never care to look up anything from anyone for any reason.

But this!?!? I looked at a LSG video. I looked at a LSG video. FOR CHAZ! Just to search for Chaz. First of all, I had to pause the U-stream and text my mama just to jog my memory of who LSG were tho!

Like, seriously..I just gave Joe Budden a view…to find Chaz.

My friends tease me incessantly about Dormtainment. “Since when..??”, they ask. “Where is all this enthusiasm coming from??” And u kno what, I cudn’t even tell u. Cuz I can’t even explain it. But I knooooo I can’t be alone in this. Tumblr has proven to me that I’m not. I’ve never been here for boy bands, R&B sangas, I cud do without many rappers and most comedians get on my nerves after a while. So what is it about these 6 young men that have me enamored with them. Just all out my jurisdiction?? I am a part of a 30 day challenge in lieu of them. 30 DAYS!! And I’m completing it! I can barely stay interested in a guy for 30 days, yet I’m pulling up tumblr every day to say something about these guys.

But it’s for the love of Dormtainment. And to help propel the movement forward. And to show my support. Cuz they’re positive. And hard-working. And humble. And if there is going to be representative of today’s young, Black male..it shud be them. Not to say that they’re perfect. I bet they have flaws and glitches just like everyone else but they are business-minded, forward-thinking, self-made, well-mannered, God-fearing and fine. Because for every Chief and Trinidad there is, a Dormtainment is needed. To balance it all out. I’d much rather my little brother obsess over DT skits versus Lil B. I get the sense that the members of DT have prayin’ Grandmas..IDK about Based God.

I sit at my cubicle and write these ridiculously long blogs in the hopes that one day when they’re having a bad day, they’ll stumble across one of my posts and smile and kno that we truly, truly appreciate all the hard work they put into what they do. And maybe it’ll make their day; just like they always make mine.

Dormtainment 30 Day Challenge

Well, I haven’t had time to do much, so I missed a few days. But I’m back on it. So here goes:

Day 14: Favorite DT character and why:

Well that’s easy! My favorite Dormtainment character is Mr. SmileyShawtyJasperJerryJeromeLeonAlfredBillyShyTay McThunderstick-Lighteningrod, the second.

Duh.

It’s almost as if, like he embodies all of DT or something.

He’s is my favorite character because. No elaboration. Because.

…Nah. I just really don’t have a favorite. Honestly. I don’t have favorites when it comes to them. Not in a cop-out way, I just genuinely enjoy each member. They all bring something different to the table and their personalities vary. So quite naturally each member will have an effect on me in a varied way. But I don’t favor any member more than another *shrug*

Day 15: Favorite skit featuring Leaning Leon:

Probably the “Dating a Jamaican...” one. It was the first Leaning Leon skit I saw and I was weeeeeak. Also very accurate. Like, freal-freal. But of course, Mike IS Jamaican so…that adds to the authenticity. And I looooooove men from..an island. Any island. Idk why they just seem sexier, they just do. They just don’t disappoint.

Day 16: Favorite Jerry J skit:

It’s a toss-up between the “Bad Boys Parody” and “The Thirst 48” His quote abt God declaring him a beast since birth always has me DTFL (dyin’ the fawk laughing) And the “ATL hood mom” fall in “The Thirst…” after he got tased was damn near flawless. I was too weak.

Day 13: What do you love about Mike (Mike 3G)??

Hmm.. Aside from the fact that he’s built like an action figure?

Let’s start with I adore Leanin’ Leon, mainly because Jamaican men and I have an understanding. So I’m always kinda partial to them.

His vlogs are pretty much the truth. I always diiiie laughing when I watch them.
