A LITTLE ABOUT MIKE...
Michael Gemballa is a Los Angeles native and once saw a UFO above a house in West Los Angeles when he was 12, but no one believes him. He graduated from Cal State Northridge's film program back when film was still used, and wrote/directed the feature film This Is Encino (available to stream online at Amazon.com) as an homage to his upbringing in the San Fernando Valley. He is also the author of the semi-autobiographical novel Overgrad (also available online at major booksellers), but refuses to acknowledge which of the embarrassing parts are true.
After starting his working career in feature film and then TV development, Beauty & the Beast marks his first job on the writing side -- and he's loving it. So much so, that he named his most recent goldfish "Beast."
He currently lives in Culver City, has a revolving door of roommates (infer what you will), but has no cats. He aspires one day to own a golden retriever or a basset hound. He hasn't made up his mind.
