This is exactly me, but with Chipotle.
When you screw up that big finish on stream and need to recalibrate for a less impressive one.

MHX Marathon
Would YOU watch a Monster Hunter marathon where a guy (me) plays multiple MH games over a 24 hour period? The goal would be to raise money for a modded JPN 3DS and MHX for the stream.
My best Gogmazios fight yet.

Hey I played Splatoon for an hour and am now an expert let me tell you how good I am and how bad everyone else is for experimenting with a demo since I am the only one who can figure out Day 1 Secret Tech.
Mortal Kombat Inconsistencies
So... Quan Chi took the souls of Hanzo and Bi Han and made Scorpion and Noob Saibot. Then he did the same thing after MK9 for most of the cast and only turned them into darker-colored versions of themselves? Instead of giving them cool extra powers or changing their natures like he did with Scorps and Subs?
And how come he didn’t get Jade? She’s “dead for good” and not a revenant, but why? Kidney removal?
And how come “Quan Chi’s process” made Sub Zero human again, restoring his organic form, but didn’t give Jax his arms back?
None of this video game makes any sense WAIT FUCK IT’S A VIDEO GAME NEVER MIND.
About getting early access to MH4U DLC
I had a run-in recently with a member of my local hunters group who was trying to show everyone how to easily use an exploit that will get you access to all the monthly DLC, since it’s all in-game and we’re waiting for unlocks each month. I told him it was too risky and didn’t feel right, and I didn’t want to risk getting banned. I also asked that he not share that info at my local meetups, which bring 20-40 people together to hunt, as inexperienced hunters looking for a quick boost might end up getting in hot water later on.
He countered that nobody has been banned, the exploit is still live, that I don’t represent Capcom, that I have no right telling people what to do.
Actually, I do. Here’s why.
I’m a community manager. I haven’t always had that title, but I’ve tried my best to uphold those ideals for a long time now. I represent Capcom as a fan, and a member of the community. If they chose to gate my favorite weapons by putting parts in DLC I won’t get for six months, then that’s the world we’re living in. They have a plan. I don’t always agree with Capcom’s plans, but it’s not my right to use an exploit to get Edgemaster +14 and White Fatalis armor and run around like I accomplished something if that’s not their plan.
It also goes against the spirit of MonHun. We’re patient. We wait. We know that the gear doesn’t matter as much as YOU do, and that relying on that gear will get you carted. This is a community-driven game. We hunt TOGETHER. We help each other. Yeah, nobody is banned now for the exploits. But what about later? Why would you take an action that might get somebody you know in trouble down the line? That seems risky, and even if there are no bans, it’s dishonest. Capcom didn’t want you to have that gear yet. You’re going out of your way to get it. If a convenience store leaves the till open by accident and has no camera system, you won’t get caught if you take the money. Does that mean you should? Does that make it right?
That’s a bit of a slippery slope, but you know what I mean.
In addition to being a Capcom fan, I represent a company that promotes fair play, honesty, and community. We don’t allow cheaters at our tournaments, and if I let cheaters run around in my MH events freely, any competitions we have later are null and void. Like my Gore Magala speed run. That wouldn’t have worked well if everyone had White Fatalis and fully maxed out gear that they had no idea how to use due to hacking and relying on all that power.
I’m not telling people to not use these exploits. It’s your life. Do as you like. I’m saying that you need to understand the risk, and to not rope other people in with you without making them aware of the risk. Also know that many players will kick you or ban you from their lobbies if they notice something fishy with your gear/quests, so you’re hurting your own chances at enjoying the game. I had a hunter with rare 3 gear and an Edgemaster rare 10 charm show up in my room on stream the other night, and against my party members’ wishes, instead of outright booting him, I told him what the consequences would be in a regular room, and how he can fix it to still be a part of our team that night. He’s been trying harder to be a good hunter ever since.
MonHun is about community. A community can’t thrive without respect. Respect your fellow hunters. Teach them. Don’t offer them a quick fix for their problems. You’re just hurting us all and making Capcom waste time and resources better spent on new content trying to police the stuff they’ve already planned.
