Why- why are people actually getting mad at the fact that DID is more common than people think it is?? Wtf-

No, not every damn person has it, but it’s still a lot more common than people think it is. The fact that people say it’s such a “rare” disorder is why it’s so hard for people who genuinely have it to get diagnosed. Because saying it’s a rare disorder leads to people saying it doesn’t exist which is just incredibly fucking harmful.

ugh people frustrate me. No one is saying that everyone and their mother and brother and sister and cousin has DID. I have literally NEVER seen anyone say that. I’m just trying to say that it’s not quite as rare as people think it is. Multiple scientific studies back that up- research it

and DID isn’t even the only KIND of disordered system. Plus, there’s more than one kind of DID recognized by medical professionals. Which only means MORE FUCKING PEOPLE who have it
